Well, being as obsessive as i am, as soon as i picked the car up from the dealership tonight I drove straight home to swap out the wheels for my 18s. Low and behold, the spokes touch the caliper. The funniest part is that i have a Wilwood big brake kit at my shop ready to be installed tomorrow. Well, it was ready until i found this out.

The wheel will clear with just another mm of clearance but i know the BBK will require atleast another 5mm maybe even a bit more os space. My question to you guys is how large of a front spacer has anyone run?

Basically, the wheel is a Racing Hart knock off, its a 6 spoke wheel with a lip. It has a 45mm offset which is obviously way to high but i knew that going in. I knew i would be adding a spacer but i just didnt know how much. Looks like a 10mm and some longer studs are the only solution. Only problem is im running a 215/40 18 I must say though, the extra sidewall really does look a lot better.

Wow that sucks dude. I ordered 215 35 18s with 42 offset hope I got no problems.

You really shouldnt have a problem as the wheels that i have are +45mm offset. On top of that, they are in set meaning that they have a lip.

if you change to longer studs, a spacer will be fine. Just dont try to use the stock studs, it could be dangerous.

my friend with a honda had to get new rims to fit the rotora big brake kit for the same thing you are ending up with.

Because of my buddy's wheel design, the wheel is barely touching the calipers so a 5mm spacer was used (18x7.5 with 42mm offset). He is also running 215x40x18s lowered with TRD springs. I haven't heard a complain from him since.

That helps a lot, thanks. So basically he is running a 37mm up front with the trd springs and no rubbing. I just scored some used TRD springs and i called my machinist to make me some 10mm hubcentric spacers for the front and rear. I was just worried about rubbing the fender.

Ultimately, the eventual set up will be a 18 x 7.5 with a 35mm offset from the added spacer and 215/40/18s with TRD springs. The rear will have the same thing so we ll see. I ll keep you guys posted :)
