I am about to order to some silver Enkei RPF1's and need help picking the size. I am lowered on TRD struts/shocks,springs and rear sway bar. I will be using 215/45-17 tires.

Here are the choices:

17 x 7.5 +48mm
17 x 8 +35mm
17 x 8 +45mm


They also have a gold version available:

id pick 17x8 for sure.

Wider tires will greatly enhance your handling, the ones you are looking at are rather narrow.

225/45/17 work well on a 7.5 wide wheel, +48 is going to tuck under a bit more than you want.

For the 8"wide setup the +35mm offset works great with a 235/40/17 as I have had that on my car for a year now so I would know, same wheels also;)

The +45 mm is actually better for the load on the wheel bearings and a few more technical aspects and a n 8" wide whee with a 245 wide tire can work very well.

Putting overly skinny tires on wide wheels is rice in almost all cases, not real performance;)

We are looking at a second set of 17x8 PRF1's for our race tires, 245/40/17's with the +45 offset.

I actually bought new tires(the ones in my sig) to put on my stock wheels a couple of weeks ago. They have less than a thousand miles on them. I hadnt thought about buying new wheels at the time when I bought the new tires.

Right now Im leaning more towards the 7.5+48mm because the lessened risk of rubbing, my current tires will fit better on that size and the reason you explained above about the load on the wheel bearings.

However, on the other hand, it seems like I have more options to go wider than 225's in the future with the 8+35mm whereas I probably would be limited to the 225's with the 7.5+48mm because anything wider would probably rub the strut?

Why do you say that the +48 is going to tuck under a bit more than I want?
