I agree - I'm just not feelin the Altezzas, whether they're black or chrome housing they just look cheap. I think candying the taillights red is the cleanest taillight mod.

If you had the black housing colormatched to the car it might look okay, but other than that it just looks like all the ones I see on crappy civics around town. If u want to change your taillight have them candied or spend $25 and get the red out kit.

Maybe on a black or dark colored car but they look awful on the TCM.

i have seen the lights on the scionfx xB (pictured) and the black housing can be painted to match the car.

I've got a BSP with the TYC's and the ONLY way I would get the Altezzas is if the TYC's weren't available (or anything else that looked better).

But hey, judging by the reaction from everyone, ... get em! You'll have a more unique ride, especially if you paint the housing to match.

Those have been on scionfx.com for a long time, the big hype for them is that they ARE a paintable housing. Once you get them painted...and by painted I mean properly, not the Pep Boys spray can painting some of you might try...then they will look nice. I wouldn't install those without them being painted, it's like all the trucks you see with the unpainted slotted tail light covers. But that's cool, everyone needs to stick to the TYC lights so their ride will really stand out from the crowd :roll:

I'll let you chumps wait and see what I have in mind for my tail lights. And no it's not a bolt on replacement. I'm just working on finding a body shop that can do it and do it right. All I was trying to point out was the age old saying "To each their own" which so many people on here preach to others like it's going out of style...but they only seem to preach it when someone has actually done it already.

If someone had posted pics of their car with these tails on it, everyone would have said "I don't really like the tail lights, but hey to each their own," but since it's a pic from an advertisement everyone seems to have grown a pair.

I've been trying to find someone in my area to do a Cadillac tail light conversion. I figure if it looks tight in an Astro van it'll look hot on my xB. Most of the shops in my area are able to do the light conversion but can't or won't suicide my rear doors. I want one shop to do it all, but here in Mass. it's not as easy to find as it is in other parts of the country.

Yeah those lights are very ugly. Here is a picture of the TYC lights on my scion so you can get an idea. I would prefer those tacky ligts over the stock lights though, I never did like the stock scion lights.

I love how everybody is declaring that it "looks like crap" based on one picture of an UNPAINTED housing. Sure, it's gonna look like crap there, but painted it would look nice as hell. Don't you have any imagination at all? Hell, I'm sure even a cockroach could picture in his head what it would look like painted.

They are a freakin mess ....... Despite painting them which will improve the looks, as they are shown in the picture, they are bland .....

I've seen those painted to match on a bunch of bBs in some Japanese magazines. They look DOPE when done right. It takes more effort, money and originality to do it that way then any other tails that are currently available for the xB. All other tails light examples I have seen out there are on so many rides and on the display counter at like every Scion dealership. They have almost come to look stock or like the "tail light option". After seeing that these are available in the US, I'm probably going to get a pair and have a quality body shop paint them to match my BSP.

I'll post pictures later that show some great looking Japanese bB's rocking this style.

That's exactly how I feel about them. Lights like this have been available for all kinds of cars in the past. Just crack open an issue of Max Power. I've never seen lights like this called Altezzas, they were always called "afterburner" style. Those lights with LED bulbs would look positively sick.

Those are awesome when you see them painted. I saw them on a blue xB and they looked tight as fuk. I was a little iffy because I saw them on the scionfx car and I was picturing the color difference because it had the orange center but it totally matched when the housing was the same color as the car.

You can't really tell in that pic if it will come out good because that is not how most people will be running them on their car.
