View Full Version : Sf Turbo
its_ikon 06-12-2004, 12:58 AM I saw a pic on another thread and was a little worried about the setup. If you look here it looks like they cut the cross member support that runs in front bumper. This doesn't like a smart thing to do. I could be wrong and that is what it is normally like since i haven't taken off the front bumper. here is a link to the pic

projxB 06-12-2004, 01:04 AM naw they totally cut.. that's not too smart at all. driving a turbo'd car with out a front cross member support, you're ASSking for it.

its_ikon 06-12-2004, 01:12 AM i was looking for that pic. looks like i am getting rev hard when the money comes in. iwould rather pay more and be safe.
ncscion 06-13-2004, 03:15 AM they didn't cut the support beam for viewing purposes did they? b/c they could have been doing that to show ya how big the i.c. was. other than the cut support it looks like a decent setup.
Minsk99 06-13-2004, 07:41 PM Here is what sf had to say about their intercooler setup on another Scion Life forum:
the intercooler is larger than nessesary it's for the bling aflect at shows the kit will come with an intercooler that dosn't require cutting the bumper support
Here is a link to that discussion

bBted 06-13-2004, 07:51 PM is that the OBX R air filter on the SFR turbo?
Infiz 06-13-2004, 07:56 PM is that the OBX R air filter on the SFR turbo?
Haha yeah I think it is. I don't think there's any reason that a turbo setup on an engine our size would benefit from anything bigger than that RevHard setup. That huge intercooler is just going to have a ____load of turbolag, plus definately not a good idea to cut the front crossbeam, although people do it all the time to put bodykits on.
PSyCHo-RaGe 06-17-2004, 03:49 AM Untill you post dyno #'s or timeslips i wouldnt even be talking crap about other company's.
All your doing is making yourself and Stafford Fabrications look immature, your giving everyone a really bad impression.
Great Customer Relations there buddy.
PSIKOTICxB 06-17-2004, 04:21 AM cant talk too much ____ against revhard...they are a proven company. i can care less if you have a phat-___ ride either....who cares. anybody can talk as much crap as they want....its called criticism.....that happens when you fix up a car, if you cant deal with that then dont bother showing pictures of your car...there will always be some positive/negative comments....so deal with it
having a equal length tubular manifold versus a log manifold wont make too much of a difference unless you are making high horsepower numbers. log style turbo manifolds are mostly for street turbo setups. i could go into the differences and stuff but i dont wanna do that now.
i still wanna know what the fuel setup consists of with the SF kit...?
projxB 06-17-2004, 04:51 PM unless something was said outside of this thread, i dont see where he said anything bad about you or you car, read it again.

maybe he was interested in the kit and the cut cross member made him worried. if its not something that is required for the kit, thats all that needed to be said. from the sounds of it, you have a very rare turbo set up, A SUCCESSFULL ONE! congratulations on that, but the comments you made blow.
showpaojoe 06-17-2004, 05:35 PM #1 Aggin has a ____load into his turbo setup, more than anyone can imagine. His setup can handle LOADS because of the precision products he put into it (what you don't see). I have to agree, when I saw the filter, I thought OBX...ehhh, but the color does rock and that's all he wanted.
#2 Stafford said they aren't doing the kit like Aggin has...YOU WOULDN"T BE ABLE TO AFFORD IT. It looks more like the revhard kit with the smaller intercooler. Aggin is right, revhard has yet to start up their turbo xB where as his is fully functioning and running strong.
damn people, just stick with nitrous. It's easy, it's affordable, and people can ask "how much you juicin" http://www.scionlife.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
"squeeze the juice"

FYI..
5months is a fukin long wait when you've dropped 3500 dollars..
djct_watt 06-17-2004, 09:04 PM believe me I don't take either side. . . because I could really care less, but it sure sounds like flames when you down play somebody's stock ride. But anyway, I like your setup. . . for show it's great. You can argue functionality all you want, but like others have stated and you yourself, it's for show. Looks mean as hell. But those who are going for the far ends of performance may not want to cut their cross-members.
I don't plan on doing many mods, because I've gone that route with my Lexus, and I've learned that no matter what, someone will be faster. . . hahaha but I'm gonna keep it mostly stock and maybe some subtle mods for looks. . . but that's my path.
Aggin_Motorsports 06-17-2004, 10:08 PM CivicEater Please read other post in re: stafford
showpaojoe 06-17-2004, 10:22 PM Ya, the problems with stafford and with those guys is that their kits were supposedly already produced were as ours aren't so you can't use their problems on us. So far the 2 guys who went to stafford got turbo kits...doesn't get much better than that for scions.
PSyCHo-RaGe 06-18-2004, 03:27 AM Hmm, so you dont care about Stafford but you deleted your post....
Aggin_Motorsports 06-18-2004, 04:24 AM who does not care about Stafford but you deleted there post.... I know it's not me!
its_ikon 06-19-2004, 12:23 AM i deleted all the post with arguing that was off topic.
