View Full Version : Why. . . . Da_BoX 06-13-2004, 01:12 AM . . . are all the gauges in the middle of the dash? Does scion want evryone who is driving with u to see how fast u r going? why did they do this? Nathant888 06-13-2004, 01:24 AM If you want to see a badly placed speedo, look at the MINI's  . That thing is like a plate in the middle of your dash. The Scion speedo it not placed where everyone can see it. If I am not mistaken the speedo is angled towards you, never looked that closely. Also it is just easier to see, you do not have to take your eyes completly off the road, just a glance.. Anyway, if you are going the speed limit why do you care who sees? Nathan youarenotjer 06-13-2004, 01:24 AM the same reason why we all own/love our scion: "why would you want a car like everyone else?"   ...with the exception of the small tach. Nathant888 06-13-2004, 01:29 AM the same reason why we all own/love our scion: "why would you want a car like everyone else?" That too.. :D Da_BoX 06-13-2004, 01:34 AM exactly. thx guys CamoxBInSC 06-13-2004, 01:40 AM Look at the Echo's speedometer it is in the middle of the dash with a slight angle towards the driver but because it glows indiglo blue at with the headlights on everyone in the car can see how fast you are driving. and if the person driving behind you is close enough even they can read it LOL. I love the placement of the xB's speedometer. People that ride with me have to lean to see how fast I am driving so it isnt easily visible. The main reason I like it there is because I love the open dash in front of me and I can drive anyway i want and not have an arm blocking my view of the speedometer. djct_watt 06-13-2004, 01:49 AM My xA will be coming in thurs/fri. . . I test drove one before I committed with a deposit, and I miss the center dash! I'm back to my old car (for now) and it sucks! When you look down, you take your eyes completely off the road, and can't see a damn thing. Not only that, it is a farther movement and a completely different focus too! The center dash rocks, if you ask me. . . less strain and movement from the eyes, and you can still see the road in your peripherial vision. One more reason the Scion is different. NHGrafx 06-14-2004, 02:16 AM I love where the spedometer is. Its alot easier to see and you dont have to take you eyes off the road and look down through a steering wheel to see it. You can just glance over and see your speed. djct_watt 06-14-2004, 02:28 AM You know, I was thinkin about fabricating some louvers so that pesky side/back seat drivers can have one less thing to say about my driving. It wouldn't be very hard. . . I just don't know how it would look. |
