Well, some of you guys is wondering how the new bB stack against the old bB... Had a chance to meet a owner of the new bB here in Singapore.... so we put our cars together and took some pictures.... well for you guys to judge which is better, the new or the old..... too bad the US don't have this new bB just as yet. btw, the interior space of the old bB is much roomier then the new bB.

Heard the new bB is selling very well..... in fact my friend a car dealer just sold two yesterday. People in Singapore are taking to the shape very well, unlike the previous model, where only people like me is liking it.

Well, the bB is not sold by the authorised Toyota agent here in Singapore. They only sell the "conventional" Toyota cars here, so if we want something "exotic", we have to approach the parallel importers, who will bring in any cars you want, as long as they meet the environmental requirements. My bB was bought in that manner, where I specified wanting a factory installed sun roof.

The new bB has many version, the one you see in the pictures, is the zq version, which is 1500 cc, with full sound system factory fitted in Japan. There are also the 1300 cc available. Like anything else, as long as you are willing to pay, you will get what you want...... I may get the Modellista street billet version soon myself as a second car.

Yes, both are lowered, mine with Blitz springs while the white one with full coilovers...

I bought mine grills from Japan, south-yokohama.... I was on a biz trip there and ring ahead to my purchaser to have them ordered.

Thanks so much for the great comparison pictures. To me they look like they are related. "They" are saying that the new bB will not be coming to the U.S. What is the word you are hearing? The new bB looks to me like a good replacement if the xB over here has to be replaced. Thanks again for the great pictures.............

Nice to see these photos! Now I REALLY hate the new bB design! When I saw pictures I thought the front was nice, I just didn't like the tails. Now seeing it again, I hate everything!

The box design looks better..... is better.

I think the new bB is too much of a departure from our rectilinear boxes, BUT... let's face it, if they brought it here, our cars would look instantly dated like 10 years. Look at the pix... the new one looks like a thoroughly modern vehicle. The crazy-short overhangs, the way the bodywork looks wrapped around the wheels, ect.
Makes me wonder what the actual replacement for the xB will look like...

I definately prefer the OLD bB. The new one is cute in it's own way but not as a xB. If it ever does come to the US it undoubtedly look different due to safety regulations like the original. It's pretty sweet looking though. Not a big fan of the front end. Looks more like an xA on steroids. Good pics! Thanks.

The new one is cool, but that's what makes the xb so unique...it's boxy-ness. I'm drawn to itz rugged edges. I luv my oldskool box <3

But does that make other descendants of fine lines such as the 240Z ugly and repulsive? The current 350Z is nothing like the original 240, but is a fine machine with major advances in technology and styling.

I think it is a major shock to the senses right now, but when your box dies or is crashed, are you going to get a Dodge Neon or something or "that ugly a$$ new box"? I'm getting the box.

lol, yup i agree with you. i actually think it looks like the great white shark from the movie shark tale. the side view is not too bad, but the front is just fugly man. it looks like a permanent smile. i kinda like the front to look aggressive and rugged not no sissy boy look. the boxiness IS the style. you take that away and its just another car.

It looks a lot better to me then that giant gas guzzling box that we are probably going to get..................

The basic profile is the same as the previous version, it's just got some stylin' on the front end that probably would not go over here.

I love the new bB.......hopefully they'll bring the same version here to the states. Hopefully with a better paint job (doesn't chip like the xb's now) and a better motor.

True, but it shows that even official announcements can be taken back before the start of production. Even the best thought plans should change if the marketplace does. If you listen to critics, the Corolla is worse compared to the new Civic, however the marketplace is making a different statement.

We will just have to wait on the 2007 xB and the xB's successor. It could be announced that "engineering resources" would be spread too thin to bring a 2.4L-sized xB to production, when the 1.5L xB/bB is doing very well. Also, the mileage issue brings doubt that sales of a 2.4L will exceed that of a 1.5L

I still wouldnt mind if the new bB came over here, i think that thing is mad frickin cool. I like the shape a lot better, and maybe with a scion emblem on that thing it would look better.
