View Full Version : Exhaust Question
slim1977 05-19-2006, 06:33 PM I am getting ready to install a DC exhaust on my 2004 XB that has 67000 miles on it. Are there any problems that I should anticipate before I do it. I have already read that it is a pain to get the muffler off of the hanger. But I also read something about people breaking a ceramic gasket? I purchased a new gasket just in case, but the one that I bought is not ceramic. Did I buy the wrong one? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
ProshopXB 05-19-2006, 08:05 PM I put the same exhaust on my 06, never put a new gasket on, i honestly didn't know there was one until a few weeks ago. So i wouldnt honestly be worried about it, the clamp holds the factory and the dc exhaust together very good. The hangers are the worst part of the install, lube them up before hand.

hotbox05 12-29-2006, 09:42 PM just don't phuk up the gasket and you will be good to go.
Camp1320-XB 12-29-2006, 10:06 PM Lucky for me when i got my Greddy SP2 it came with a new gasket.
OakToddler 12-29-2006, 11:00 PM The gasket should be new when changing over to the axleback.
The DC should of come with a new one too!
Too bad for me.

That appears to be sort of obvious.
hotbox05 12-30-2006, 12:22 AM well hey . peopel are asking obvious questions os i gave an obvious but still helpful answer.
OakToddler 12-30-2006, 12:30 AM Hot, you had the DC Sports and it melted your bumper, right?
Maybe a new gasket and clamp would of avoided such problems.
It really isn't obvious.
OakToddler 12-30-2006, 12:32 AM Hey Hot,
are you able to give me the part number for the rear exhaust clamp and nut?
You can make good use of your thread space.
hotbox05 12-30-2006, 12:32 AM i've never had a melted bumper or bought a waste of money axle back .
OakToddler 12-30-2006, 12:42 AM More space takin' up!
Way to go.
hotbox05 12-30-2006, 01:00 AM yeah cause you're not wasting space at all. you seem to be a fan of search and such so help him out instead of bickerign with me when i posted good info , as well as make false statements about me trying to be cool just to end up being wrong.
but hey it's all good.
good to know that some peopel have vendetta's against me for no reason.
have a nice day.
OakToddler 12-30-2006, 01:10 AM Oh, jeez. Very true, that it was not you with the burnt bumper.
It was the original HOTBOX.
I guess you took the name and modded it with as HOTBOX05.
hotbox05 12-30-2006, 08:19 PM i've actually been on this website since sept 04. and i believe i am the original hotbox on this website. i do know i've been scionlifes top poster for two years in a row.....
OakToddler 12-30-2006, 09:42 PM Great!
The sad thing is that you think its cool.
It's really kinda pitiful.
HOTBOX is the original, sorry, 2003.
hotbox05 12-31-2006, 12:16 AM you ar also a bit pitiful arguing nil points just to be a jerk.
Never did I say I was cool. and when I picked my name I wasn't the 5th hotbox i picked hotbox and 05 'cause my car is an 05 .
can I ask why you're being a jerk unneccessarily?
OakToddler 12-31-2006, 12:36 AM Does this mean you aren't gonna give me the part number for the rear exhaust clamp and bolt?
hotbox05 12-31-2006, 12:42 AM I don't care
if YOU were to call up ANY dealer they can and will tell you. and if I'm correct from reading your other posts you know the prices of said parts so I'd assume you have access or could have gotten that part number.
OakToddler 12-31-2006, 01:04 AM I feel sorry for you.
ScionLife is really all you have and now my wife thinks I am having a debate with an unstable person. Meaning you.
She may be right.
Done.
hotbox05 12-31-2006, 01:23 AM you should really relax .
trust scionlife is nowhere near my life .
i think you're the less than sane person going around starting fights cause i don't care about a piece of crap axle back or how you wont re-use the stock donut or go buy a new one. or something like that. but have fun. and think i'm unstable and wrong.
