today i washed the xb and some thing bad happened. not sure how the deal with it.
it was damn hot out today and the sun was blazing down on my box. so as i always do i rinse the car off first to cool the surface before soaping. as i sprayed the car i start to hear a noise like ice cracking when you pour soda over it. i stop spraying thingking it was the sprayer making the noise but then i hear it again. so i look at my box and THE WIND SHIELD IS CRACKING while i stand there and watch it. the crack started just to the right of the rear view mirror straight down the middle about eight inches. the it makes a 90 degree towards the driver side and straight across under the rear mirror about three inchs past and stoped.
i just stood theer helplessly sareing at this happen. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED.
could the glass have been so hot that the cool water cracked it?? cant afford new glass right now and i dont know if that would fall under the warranty. i know this is only going to crack more as i drive it. what do i do and why does every car i have ever owned break in weird ways? :loser:

Do you have glass coverage on your insurance policy? That would be the best way to get it replaced... I just added full glass coverage with no deductible. Worth every penny just IN CASE.

my guess is you had a rock chip somewhere that you didnt notice and yes water could do that to a hot windshield, kinda the same thing if you have a rock chip in the winter and you turn on the heat itll crack it also

i did find a chip in the glass right on the top edge under the weather stip where the crack started. tomorrow i will have had it for two weeks. it has 1047 miles on it.

Damn I'm feeling that pain. I hope you had the 'extra' window replacement coverage. The dirty bastards. It was damn hot today too. But - you know - it aint even summer yet down here, it's gonna get way hotter... I'm pretty suprised the thing broke like that, I bet you did freak out.
