Most of you may have heard of Tuner Transformation on the Speed Channel. They are doing a transformation on an Lava xB. They called me to use mine but when they found out it was an automatic they said no can do, we need a manual. I just got off the phone with the guy 10min ago. Below is the name and number of the Jason who is in charge of finding the car. The only thing is it is this weekend and you have to get to Toronto Canada which is where they do the filiming.

Im not sure of the work that is gonna be done but Jason told me there will be performance work done and they want a manual.

That's one heck of a drive HotLuva. I'm not interested in handing my car over to anyone, especially all the way up North...

It'd be interesting to see what they do.

 

Jason called me back this morning, and I turned him down because of the long drive. I have a white 5 speed. So he must be going after everyone else now! kinda short notice if you ask me

They aren't looking for a Hot Lava in general, and I'm sure he wont be too happy about you posting the number... it was invite only. The reason you were called is because you were a finalist. So am I. But I'm not going to go around spreading Jason's number...

When I spoke to Jason he said he REALLY wants a Hot Lava 5spd. He will take any xB 5 speed but he is looking for a Hot Lava first!

 

Ugh, like I said before, why? Why do they want to rice out and screw up somebody's hot lava or normal xB. Tuner Transformation is crap.

oh, you're gonna have to leave the car with them for 2 weeks (10 working days)
so all of you that don't have another car, think twice. (or rent a car for two weeks)

 

Don't forget, he's from Canada so he hasn't seen any of the colors... he thought BCP might have been a fancy name for black, then when I told him he seemed surprised at the hue I described...

Who knows, maybe they're just telling all of us a different story, theres you, I and that guy with the white 5spd that have been contacted so far... certainly doesn't seem like he's looking for a Hot Lava... because the one with the white was contacted first...

 

I checked their site, and I didn't really see anything rice. They actually deny ugly kits and such unlike Pimp My Jalopy...

They seem to like nitrous, and forced induction... and what do you know, so do I...

 

This post wasn't started to bash the show or any of the work they do, I was just giving some Lava guys a heads up if anyone was intrested ... if you don't like the show or the work don't watch it and don't _____ about it here!

 

Called them. gave them my info. I have 3 cars so losing one for awhile won't hurt me.

 

so spec wise pretty much the 04 and the o5 is very similar.
Is it not practical or able to swap the engine with like a camera or a celica or corolla etc/

 

Not pretty much... exactly. And since when do cameras have engines? I know my Fuji doesn't have one, I don't know about yours.

 

i have seen a few shows, and they have done nice jobs. (imo)

they have a budget of 5000 for power train, suspension and graphics(bling).
no gheto quilted seat covers, no fish tanks, no coffee maker......

they incerase the cars performance (0-50, 400', skidpad...) i'll go for that!

 

so what happened with this?! Anyone on here get accepted?!

 

Yeah tuner transformation like f.i. , motor swaps , good looking paint , lightweight wheels , and name brand brakes. Nothing wrong with that to me. Too bad that's one heck of a drive from Sacramento

 

yeah they got in, back in 2004...

it was a girl from boston area...

kinda crappy build for this car...
they replaced the hotckis strut bar with a diff color one to break up the color...
wheels, box in the trunk, and graphics...

no real tuning...

the girl that won was a friend of someone here...can't find the thread...
