Default What If..

If your Scion was due last Wednesday and it still hasn't come yet, can you do anything about it?
Like maybe get free shipping or anything.

I want to punch them.
It's taking way too long.

Free shipping?? WTF?

Have you called to ask? Have you talked to anyone about it?

I don't think there is anything you can do about it. There are many factors as to why you car may be late, remember, it has to sail from Japan through the Panama canal and cruise up the east coast. At any time the ship is at the mercy of inclement weather and congestion in shipping channels and docks.

Once it makes it to the dock, there are a whole host of issues with customs, inspections, inventory control, etc. Case in point: my tC was bought and paid for nearly two weeks before I took delivery, but it was sitting on the docks for three weeks 55 miles from my house... you would think it was just a matter of loading it on a car carrier and driving north for an hour or so, but it's not that easy.

Be patient, your tC will arrive soon.

We are having that same issue out here in Tucson. Our port in Long Beach is taking forever (and my customers are rightfully reminding me ) and I was recently told that it is because all the installs on the FJs happen at port, which has becked up shipments nationwide. I'm still waiting on mine as well.

Also depends on the options (if any) you wanted on your tC. A lot of options are installed at the dock. At least that is what I was told. I agree with the above about boat traffic as well. Long Beach Harbor is a major bizich. I don't know if yours is coming through there though.

Free Shipping!? What do you think this is? Amazon.com? j/k

It took my tc exactly 2 weeks to get from the Port of New York to get down to Hampton Virginia. I got sorta lucky though, that car hadnt been special ordered so they put my name on it while it was still in route to the port from Japan, they put the parts i ordered and stereo on here at the dealership. If you relax.......it will come. good luck.

Probably not.. Mine was promised week after week until I finally settled for one w/ different options. I would have rather prefered that they didnt make me give my hopes up each week and just tell me it would be another while, but maybe they didnt really know either.

I got mine 2 weeks after it was promised. Try to get some free installation on an aftermarket part through the dealership. Unfortunately, if you don't want to wait, they will give you back your deposit and when the car comes in, they will sell it to someone else nice and fast. The tC is a popular car!

Dear emoimport,

Perhaps you can write the dealership a nice melodramatic song about how this delay has affected your life and self esteem. You should include the following; friends making fun of you for not having your car yet, your girlfriend running off with some other guy who does have a car, your best friend who got your girlfriend and makes fun of you for not having your car yet, your parents not understanding you. At the end of the song, plead with them to give you free shipping on the car to ease the pain you've gone through.

Sincerely, PunkInDrublic

Deal with it.

In the end all that matters is how they treated you.

Remember; Car salesmen are tools. Their job is to land the deal, no matter what they say or do, their job is to land the deal. What they DO know is that the Scion generation is a generation of impulse buyers. They're not willing to wait and they take full advantage of that.

I wanted white. Manual. And I waited 3 full weeks to get it. I also was the only white manual tC to come into the southern region on that shipment. The three before were all claimed before the boat hit land.

If you want to be choosy, be prepared to wait.

Exactly. Be patient bro, it'll get here. I waited nearly 7 weeks from the time I ordered mine to the time I drove it off the lot. And even then it was bone stock w/ none of the options I ordered. I had to wait another week to get them installed.

Your scion is wayyyy over $25 buck, you should get a free shipping.

If you don't like to wait, you can go to other dealer to check it out, they may have one in stock.
