DO NOT PAINT THEM!!!

It will chip badly, and soon. I did, and regretted it.

Powdercoat them.

Mine have been painted for a month or two and still look perfect. Even if they chip down the road, I have 2/3 of a can of paint left. Much cheaper than powdercoating and I didn't have to unhook the brake lines.

Mine started chipping and peeling after about six months.

I powdercoated mine for about $15. No brush strokes and a stellar finish, not to mention long-lasting.

Mine chipped up front on thcrappy autozone dupli color kit. They were ricer red.
But I got smarty and painted them black. The kit I used for the 2nd time around is a much higher quality and does not chip...I $hit you not.

Its the G2 kit. I dont remember the link, so some searching may be in order. I think the distributor was vette head, or vetteproducts or somthing like that.
