Default e brake wire for pioneer navigation. ground it?

hey i was wondering if i can just ground out the e brake sensor wire and if that will make the navigation work by bypassing it or do i have to hook it up to it. i dont really want to because my passenger might want to play with it while driving and it would be annoying if i couldnt. please help thanks

While I'm no xB expert (or owner yet for that matter), my past experience with wiring those kinds of things into vehicles (my corvette, blazer, and other vehicles) has shown that the 'parking brake grounding wire' can be just put the the regular ground that the rest of the stereo / nav system uses. The whole reason they put that thing in there along with that "it must be grounded this way to your parking brake" is to cover their asses from lawsuits.

if it's the Pioneer N2 or D1/D2 there is more to do then just ground the brake wire. you can check www.the12volt.com for more info about bypassing those models.
