l looked at this also. our inlet is 2.5" so you should be able to stick it in and weld it with no problem. but i would spend the extra and get the hks one the carbon fiber lokks better and where it meets the titanium looks better also.

I might just go ahead and buy this.. so there's no problem with a muffler having a 2.4" inlet?

If you're welding it there should be no problem. I think there's a misprint in the description though since I've never heard of antyhing but 1/4, 1/2, or whole inch increments in exhausts

I just got a deal from one of my local shops for a universal HKS Hi-Power muffler for $240.. and they'll include the installation/welding.. should I take it? it sounds so tempting since it's HKS. Do you think it will produce a deep, nice sound?

Would there be a difference in SOUND, not PERFORMANCE, but SOUND between a Universal HKS Hi-Power muffler w/ 2.5" custom piping and the HKS Hi-Power axleback for the tC? just wondering, because I might take the cheaper route.. $200 for universal HKS muffler w/ installation/welding.

becasue it has a titanium tip their should be a sound difference between the two HKS..

the megan, im pretty sure is not real titanium, but just for looks, so it will sound like all other megan mufflers

and im not sure of HKS either, the tip may just be colored...

a real titanium muffler looks kinda like a satin steel and then has a colored tip, but what most companies are doing(hks, megan) are using a SS canister and welding on a Ti tip..

BUT yes, you will get more sound, you will pass emissions, and it will look cool

the Universal HKS Hi-Power muffler i'm getting is the same exact one from the axleback, except having the axleback piping.. there IS a Titanium tip version of it.. but i'm not getting that one.

but yeah, i agree with the whole SS can/Ti tip thing.

still deciding on which one to get.. I want to be different and get a custom exhaust. just like having a HKS Carbon Ti muffler which about 5 people have on SL? and I believe no one has the m-spec cf megan muffler yet.. so i dunno.
