Had this idea for a long time and finally had a day without kids to do it. I know some others on here have done it and man it looks great so far! I even got the carbon fiber to take the shape of the center consoles slight curve...

Bent a long peice of aluminum scrap into an L to brace it across the body and stuck it down with 15K psi epoxy, and damn this baby is strong! I then made little arms to push hard onto the carbon and hold it in place. Used the screws that originally held on the door assembly to hold the arms and secure the face. I then used lots of black silicone adhesive all the way around it further brace it! This baby is tough! And it is only going to hold three gauges *LOL*!!! The deck will be held in by the oem deck mounts re-drilled. Anyways hope it gives some of you idea's! Took awhile to make... as I was figuring out what to do as I went along with it haha.

Best part is, All I have to do is use a blade to cut the silicone away and remove the 4 screws if I ever want to take it out and return it back to stock! I did not have to modify any oem parts!

 

More pics to come later when the gauges are all mounted up and the deck is aligned! Should have gauges in late this week "boost -30 - 20 psi / oil pressure / pyro

 

Ok got it installed! I just stuck some mock up gauges I have laying around in so you can see what it will look like. I understand after some pm's that most non installers cannot visualize an item installed haha... so anyways here ya go! "Bottom pic is with the flash on so that it shows off the carbon...."

I do all my work myself, well 99.999% of it haha. Had a local cool dood named RJ work over the gauges because he has done so many..

Naw, I could not use the door anyways with that deck. The **** stuck out to far and I could not recess the deck any further because of the way the display extends out. If I did recess it, the door would hit it's own trim ring and not allow a cd to eject. So the door was not functional and was just a hood anyways!

Is there any way you could do that, but opposite? What I mean is, how hard would it be to have the gauges on top and the H/U on bottom?

 

Same amount of work, Total pain in the ****... I just wanted them this way I thought about doing it the opposite though. Took a few to make the final decision.

Thanks man just be sure to measure twice or more haha. The fit is very tight between the console, bottom of the gauges, gauges to deck, deck to top of console...
