depending on the color and how many you want changes the price but they roughly go for 1.35 each if you get less than 99. hope this helps good luck!

you may have to look on ebay.co.uk to try and get purple, there is a thread about PINK he said he has a link for the pink ones, he may have purple ones also. Check it out though

I don't think they're plug and play more like soldering :P

yes they are soldering if you are going to do the gauge and HVAC control mod

BlackSandPtC - depends on what you wanna do. If you just wanna do all your gauges white with no other color then you are going to need 14 LEDs for just gauges. If you wanna do your HVAC controls also, all together you will need 30 LEDs

not to be mean or anything but people will jump all over you for this, there is a little red button at the top of your screen, its the search buttone, that will become your new best friend.

But here is the DIY for this and the HVAC controls:

nd4spd....i think i saw purple on my quest for the pink smds...but i can't find them. The only way i can find now is to go directly to a supplier in China. And you'd have to mass order. If you want that link, i'm in the process of finding it.

Man, if i wasn't a poor college student...I'd start up a store here in the US for all of the rare leds. It'd definately make a profit.

Do most shops do these types of things? My fiance's brother owns a shop and asked me to print out the DIY for him but from how he was talking, he didn't have a clue how to do it.. even with the DIY.

BlackSand...i believe that is the same. It's the right size and everything....however, don't go off the specs listed on that. I've noticed with a lot of stores on ebay, they have a generic set of specs. And they have those specs for pretty much all leds even 3mm/5mm. But based off of the size, and look, i'd say they are the same.

amanda, i'm not sure a lot of shops do this type of mod, unless they have an electrician on their crew. But i'm sure there are SOME shops that do do this.

no alot of shops do not do this mod.

If you do the HVAC you need to go to the tech gallery and look up the mod I wrote up for it, or the LEDs will be so dim you can barely see them. It requires cutting parts of the circuit and adding parts.

If a shop doesnt work on surface mount stuff regularly DO NOT let them do this. It is different than simply soldering wires in place. And if they mess up de-soldering your LCD on the HVAC board it costs good money to replace. A new HVAC module lists $566.00 from Toyota, and that is what you buy if the LCD gets damaged. You can get one out of salvage for about $100 usually, but still not fun just for the LCD.. then you have to try desoldering it again :P

It is one thing if you want to go by the two DIY writeups in the tech gallery and learn yourself on your car, but I wouldnt take it to someone else unless they had experience in it. I just had one guy send me his because it didnt work, and the guy he paid skipped out on him. So he had to pay me to fix it, plus $100 to replace the board and LCD that were damaged. So be careful that whoever you send it to knows thier stuff. I have had 4 out of 35 so far come to me because they were already damaged trying to do the mod.

But in any case, the write ups for the Gagues and HVAC, the mod I created so the HVAC comes out correctly and some soldering tips I wrote up are in the Tech Gallery

WHAT???? The dealer is not even qualified to do the mod unless they are ordering them from me and charging that!! Not that someone there hasnt done anything similar, but I wouldnt trust them with it. I say ordering from me because I have done a handful of them for dealers around the country.

PM sent to you regarding this in case you are interested. But either way, the "fair" price for this is about 2% of what they told you :P

^^ holy smokes!!! $5K?!?!?!?!!!

Hell Squall we should both quit our day jobs and travel around doing these at dealers :D They could just pay me $3k a peice and keep the rest as profit.. I could make about 9k a day doing that :P

Yeah I know the dealer isnt authorized to do that but I work for them and they would do it aftermarket for me...and Im not even sure who they would call out for it anyway, but they usually hook me up in the price department so i trusted them...good thing I signed up with this site otherwise i'd be hating the amber forever!!
