OMG, i've never owned a CAI that whistled so much! I LOVE IT!!! The intake SCREAMS above 3500rpms and near rattles my brain around 5000-6000rpms. The exhaust i thing is nice. Not too too sure if i like it yet, give me a day or two and i can give you an honest answer, but the intake is a 100% MUST BUY! I'll post up pics and videos tomorrow
Prototype_xB 05-31-2006, 05:09 AM And i mean JUST installed. Its like 1:10am here in NC just took it down the highway and back about a mile or two. Def feel a good amount of gain!
Ryhian 05-31-2006, 06:18 AM Yah this is my first CAI on a car and it is awesome. I drive like a dick all the time just to let everyone hear it. lol.
TougeTerror 05-31-2006, 12:08 PM Yah this is my first CAI on a car and it is awesome. I drive like a dick all the time just to let everyone hear it. lol.
 I'd do the same thing.
KJ_Scion 05-31-2006, 04:37 PM I have the injen intake and exhaust also and I love it. Exhaust sounds so nice and deep. I put my exhaust on about 2 months after I had the intake and I can definatly feel the gains in the upper RPMs.

Video coming shortly (gotta edit and put all together then find a host)
Prototype_xB 05-31-2006, 05:14 PM Got a couple of videos here. Was hoping to compile them and make a short little movie out of them, but for some reason my camera recorded them as a .mov file (Quicktime) instead of MPEG or whatnot. So oh well, Windows Movie Maker won't open .mov files.
Took a lil' road trip today (about 100 miles) just to help break in the car a little more and to break in the exhaust (That new burnt metal smell, mmm mmm good!) As i was saying last night, i wasn't too sure if i liked the exhaust, but the tone has changed alot after putting a few miles on it. Last night it sounded as if it had a little indegestion :P Now she sounds deep and mean. Must say i like it now.

Hyghgynx 05-31-2006, 06:03 PM Sounds hot, man! Good job! Crazy how a good CAI and Exhaust makes the tC sound more aggressive. The only worry I have is the Exhaust is dangerously close to the bumper. :nails:
Prototype_xB 05-31-2006, 08:46 PM The intake was a bit of a pain in the butt to get in. Everything on the primary piping was pretty straight forward, but to attach and mount the cold air extention was a PAIN! Had to remove the front bumper, jack up the drivers side, remove the driver's side wheel, remove the entire plastic wheel well and relocate a ground wire. Even with all that, had to use a lot of "Persuasion". The finish on the piping is a little scuffed up thanx to such a small area to feed it into and some insane angles. Oh and the filter kept wanting to slide off even with the clamp on it. The rubber finish is all oily and slippery and at first the clamp wanted to keep slidding off it, then the filter kept wanting to pop off with the clamp on. So i took some degreaser and scrubbed the oily residue off and reattached.
KJ_Scion 05-31-2006, 09:09 PM Clips sound really good, and pretty close to the actual sound of how it is. Your exhaust does look a lot closer to your bumber than mine does, ill have to take some pics to compare.
Edit: Heres a pic of my exhaust, its about an inch or an inch and a half from the bumper. Ive felt the bumper above the exhaust after driving and it wasnt hot at all so I wouldnt worry about it. Im lowered on TRD springs also.

Prototype_xB 05-31-2006, 09:46 PM Hmm, that's odd, i'll go examine my hangers and see if i can make any adjustments

  Thanx a ton you guys for bringing this to my attention. Saved me from a big big screw up. I went and checked out my bumper and saw that under the cut out for the exhaust the paint was coming off and the rest was wrinkling from the heat. So i used every adjustment and trick i knew of to fix this problem. I dunno where the problem lays. I loosened the bolts holding the axle-back to the midpipe, tugged and pulled on the hangers and used the zip tie trick to buy about an inch of clearance. Here's some pics:

Prototype_xB 06-01-2006, 02:07 AM Eh, its all good, ya have to kinda get under the car to see it. Not noticable unless you're on you knees looking for it
But it still hurts, cause you know its there. At least thats how I am with little messups to my car.
KJ_Scion 06-01-2006, 04:33 AM Yeah I thought it looked close, that looks a lot better now.
Prototype_xB 06-01-2006, 06:54 AM are there any heat shields out there on the market that i could put around the exhaust cut out to hide this blemish?
wibblywobbly 06-01-2006, 11:19 PM what is the sound like cruising at 75mph?
KJ_Scion 06-02-2006, 01:16 AM Its actually pretty quiet cruising at about 75. About 4 hours after I had my exhaust installed I put about 200 highway miles on it going to and coming back from a car show. Drones a little bit when you start decelerating from high speeds though. I often have friends in my backseat so I dynamaated the entire trunk and that cut noise down by half. The exhaust doesnt bother me at all though, I love it. And I was very cautious about my exhaust not being too loud.
Prototype_xB 06-02-2006, 01:20 AM very quiet at speeds. An exhaust that's loud only when you want it to be loud
Hyghgynx 06-02-2006, 08:28 AM Since you really can't see the damage, why don't you try some Touch-Up Paint from the dealer? That should help cover up that dark part. I've used Touch-Up Paint lots of times on my SSM. Cheaper than a heat shield too.
Prototype_xB 06-02-2006, 03:22 PM Still dunno why the exhaust was so close to the bumper??? Rubber hanger material diffterent for the 06's? Stiffer? Man it just still really bugs me to KNOW that scuff is there
gomdangie 06-04-2006, 05:31 AM i am deciding on a exhaust...
do you prefer this compare to TRD exhaust?
I heard my friend's TRD exhaust and it sounds pretty nice!
what is the price on this one?
Prototype_xB 06-04-2006, 04:42 PM I haven't heard the TRD exhaust, but i didn't get it because, its pricey and its not a straight through design like the Injen.
Injen SRI and axle back
