i wanted to no if anyone thought it is possible to beat a 06 dodge magnum with a scion xa because my dad said he did. he went about a 1/4 mile light to light with him on flat road. he says he had him the whole race by 1/2 car lenth. when i heard this i thought that was amazing but i wanted to now you alls take on the situation.

thats what i was thinkin but i wasnt sure because it might have more power then an xa buts weights alot more and depending if that guy could drive or not

 

the magnum has a 0-60 mph time in the low 5-second range and does the quarter mile in the high 13-second range....it also happens to have 425-horsepower.

an ss with a LT1 engine???? he must have been on some good drugs for you to have won. i beat a ferrari enzo the other day with my xb. it was truning right and i was going strait man i smoked him... that old man didnt know what was comin

 

dont get me wrong i dont mean to be a *****, i love our cars and they are great fun. but the numbers just dont add up.

 

its possible if it was a v6 magnaum.

 

the magnum doesnt come with a manual tranny if im not mistaking so i dont think drive skill has much do to with it. if its a v6 then i would say it would be close. if it had a hemi no way

 

the magnum SE has a 2.7L 190 horsepower, 190 ft/lbs of torque v6 in it. That sounds possible for a xA to hang with when weight is factored in.

 

yeah it was probly a v6 then that makes more since

 

i think a 6 speed is optional if i remember correct but the 5 spped auto is standard.

 

It could happen if your dad was the only one racing and the guy in the dodge magnum didn't realize he was in a race.

 

he was the only one in the car yeah but the guy in the magnum sqweeled the tires at takeoff and was hard on it the whole way

 

just read the original posters profile, the xA does have a full I/H/E if that helps to sway anyone

 

It takes two to race--With intake and sport muffler you might be getting 110 hp--It was one man racing and one man cruising............

SE 2.7l V6 190hp 3804 lbs. p/w 20.02
SXT 3.5l V6 250hp 4164 lbs. p/w16.66
xA 1.5l I4 103hp 2340 lbs p/w 22.72

it would be close with an SE...MAYBE and SXT and thats a big MAYBE

there is no magnum availble with a manual tranny. there is a 4spd auto and a 5spd auto.

 

i dont have a sport muffler i have a 2.5 custom exhaust from header on back
