I am getting a Super White tC in a few days and I already have plans to buy rims that I love with a passion. But, my friend has these rims in 18s on his crappy GTI. And I made plans to get these in 19s. And he started to complain and have a fit about me wanting the same rims that he even made a thread on VWVortex (He is DMehalko(DM)) about it to complain to other people. So, I want to know how would YOU feel if you had a set of rims and your friend wanted to buy them for his DIFFERENT car and what would YOU do if your friend had rims that you loved with a passion and know that they would look better on YOUR car? I want to hear what everybody has to say about this.

They're nice wheels... I don't see the big problem I guess. I think my first reaction would be something like "well... can't you at least find a different wheel that looks close enough?"

I'd say do it. 18s vs 19s, also different cars. Your friend sounds jealous. If you love them, go for it, regardless of what your friend says.

 

why are you saying crappy...GTI's are great cars. and why should you care what he thinks? get whatever you want. everyone has different tastes and style, so get whatever YOU want. but i'll just put in my input that i think those are ugly, hehe

 

Yea, he did say that and I looked EVERYWHERE. Most of them have rivets which I hate.

 

Not saying crappy as in performance, but in looks. The tC's look own that potato.

 

I say get 'em! They look really good on the tC. Plus, he's got a VW - his mechanic will see them more than anyone else!! J/K

There are bigger things in life to whine about. Get what you like and tell him yours are better because they're 19s.

 

Yea, exactly, this is not something you would complain or think about at your dad's funeral or something. Just saying that this is nothing to whine about when I have a different car. Ya know?

 

I agree. On a less tough-guy note, sure it'll be kind of weird when you guys go somewhere together and someone notices it, but how often are you guys parked right by each other?

 

Just only at friends house. That's all pretty much. He would give me so much ____ for them if I hungout with him with them on.

 

If i had those rims and I loved them and my friend wanted to get the same ones, I would say hey go for it. They are nice rims.

 

Just get his car stolen, then if he gets it back, just be like "stop copying me you copier you!"

Yea, sounds good. But, IF I steal it, he won't get it back... EVER...

 

Plus, those rims fit the tC WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more than the other car.
