well they are saying that they wont warranty my su per charger when they installed it because they said that they water pump pully is a different size (i know this is more of a forced induction question but i figured n/a guys would have more of these pulleys.) This is elk grove toyota service.

thats a tough one to prove on their part
they have to show that your new pulley caused the issue at hand with the supercharger, if they cannot they have no cause to say otherwise
they will try and pin it on you, becuz you have non-factory part
but if its same size, i dont see the issue
take your OEM pulley and measure it with your new one

well here is the thing the super is getting installed today. They quoted me a low price for the instal. They realized that they screwed themselfs, and are saying that i need to change the pully back to stock so every thing works the as it should. I said i believe it was the same size the guy told me no and said they will not warranty my install till i payed them 100 bucks to swap the two.
They aren't trying to screw you out of anything, you did that yourself when you installed an aftermarket pulley.
They cannot give you the dealer-installed warranty on the supercharger with any kind of aftermarket pulley setup on your car. That's why they won't honor any warranty maintenance if you swap the pulley later. That's why using the supercharger pulley, crank pulley, over/under/lightweight pullies are retarded.
You are screwed and for only 2 horsepower.

i was under the assumption you already had it in the car and were having issues with the s/c
in this case, its your own fault for having it on before the s/c was installed
so the dealer is not at fault, they are covering their a** in this case

oh i am not saying charging me for work is the prob. It is just making me feel like they are fishing for stuff to make their money back. Like they tried to charge me labor for the oil change!!!! .....so now when they tell me that the pully is a different size and they HAVE to change it. It just raised all kinds of red flags for me, and i had to check.
The water pump pulley is a lighter weight compared to oem, if the very non-specific details from NSTs site are true. Regardless, it is a different pulley than the stock pulley and the dealership will not risk messing around with it.
it doesnt matter if the aftermarket pump pully is the same exact size, weight, color or waht have you. Its not what comes from scion, and its not scions replacement. There for even if it is the exact same thing just from another company, scion wont honor the warrenty.
read your freaking manual man. is says it in plain old black n white.

but we keep getting around HIS issue
from my understanding, hes upset that the service guys are looking over his car
UNFORTUNATELY, since they have found the pump pulley being changed, its like (in their mind) what else have you done, so NOTHING comes back to bite them in the a** after the s/c installation. they are just covering all ground so nothing can be pinned on them or the s/c for being at fault, permitting something goes wrong.
