anybody know anything about hondas?

i do and i was thinkin what if we could get a k20(rsx) into a scion.. they both have the same setup and appear to be the same size. this would be much better than a celica motor( cause they suck) and k20 can hold boost pretty good.

Imm gunna take a look at my buddys rsx today and look at the dimensions and how everything sits. then ill throw the idea at hasport or place racing and see what they can do.

what do yall think?

I was wondering.. since the 2.4 is out of the Camry.. maybe we can swap the 3.3 v6 from the solara??? 220 N/A hp??? Plus S/C?? Imagine the possibilities!

i don't think it's dumb. people have been cross breeding cars for years. plus honda makes good motors. why is it such a bad idea? i'm not a big honda fan, but i still don't think it's a dumb idea. plus with a curb weight some 370 pounds lighter than an rsx the xB is already that much farther ahead :D

i say, more power to ya WYT R1CE

no need to disrepect the scion with honda

scion disrepects it self when it gets beat by HF crx's...

well, yours does! :o Me on the other hand have the box hooked up, so the HF hondas are no match for this big mexican in the box!!

Why would you waste your time doing all kinds of hellish custom fabrication to drop the Honda motor when you can spend a weekend swapping in a Celica GT-S engine?

EDIT: or if you want more torque, a Celica GT engine with the TRD supercharger.

From my previous thread I still think anyone that backs this idea has something wrong in the head......this thread is giving a bad reputation to us....if I wanted a car with a Honda engine...I would buy a Honda its as simple as that

People like to talk a good game but I wanna see someone actually cut up their $15,000 box and throw $3,000 - ???? in it to get an extra touch of power. Not to mention the potential DMV and smog nightmares.

Why not go for it and mount a nice V-8 right behind the front seats powering a rear axle?

I used to have a Hot Wheel that was modded that way so it CAN be done...

Speed is just a question of MONEY, How fast do you want to go?

I'll believe all the engine swap talk when I see someone do it, it's smooth to do and worth all the trouble. Til then its all just crack smokin talk to me.

No no no...since we're supposed to stick with the same make why don't you take an AWD bB drive train, hack the f#*k out of it so that a 1UZFE (sc400 V8 ) will fit...WA LAH V8 toyota powerd box

You guys should look into swapping in the V6 from the Camry into the tC. I hear that Camry's before would share the same mounting points for both V6's and I-4's. Don't know if they still do.

a k20 swap would cost you probaby in the upward of 15-20k.. You arent just talking a motor swap, you are talking, tranny, fuel managment, axels, hubs, shift linkage, etc. etc...

If you want to do it. more power to you...Id like to see it...

The only similarities that the k20 and our motors have is where the intake runners are placed.. So if you want to do a k20, you might want to consider the srt4 motor and VW motors as well.

That's a good point. For the cost, you might as well cram a 1.8t in there.

If I want power, my Corvette sitting in my garage. I'd rather stick with my mild-mannered, 35 mpg car. NOW, if someone could actually pull off one of these swaps, I would never have anything bad to say about them.

I've seen that one. Nice work by Bill. Although I like this one is better.

That's a more sensible project - junkyard engine and MR2s laying around - not new car and new engine...

Back in the day, my bro had a V-8 Datsun pickup, a nitrous burning V-8 Vega and this crazy V-8 minitruck that had such a shortened axle it almost looked like it was one long tire in back. Fun, crazy stuff, but not easy and not daily-driver reliability. That minitruck was the xtreme shiznit until he sucked a valve and totalled it... a little too much juice, DOH!
