Do the Hotchkis sway bars for the xb require an engine cradle drop up front? A guy in my car club said for his celica it did.

Yes! Easier if on a rack the new sway bar brackets are cool have grease nipples, but a bear to bolt in. Good luck! Bill, XBOXX

You will need to pull the front crossmember down a few inches (at least) to get the stock out and the Hotchkis in. The crossmember is bolted onto the frame of the car.

I paid an independent shop $133 to install both front and rear Hotchkiss bars. On a lift it took the tech an hour and 45 minutes.

I'm in AZ

yes i would definately recommend that you have a qualified mechanic install at least the front.. i spent all day installing mine in my driveway. i find that its easier to do a motor swap in a civic than it is to install this front sway. the instructions i had were a bit vague and missed a couple things. also i had to modify the sway cradles because they hit the power steering rack and overhung the subframe as well. they also say to pull down gently on the subframe to lower it from they car.. what they neglected to say was that it would drop down onto your chest while lying underneath it!

let just say it sounded like a truck driver lived underneath my xb during the install.

so basically i wouldnt try to install this yourself unless you have a decent knowledge of mechanics. (and a car lift) lol
