Just wondering considering that it is a 7.5 in with a 215 tire. I know alot of members here said that would have fitment problems with a 40+ offset. Thanks

View Full Version : Offset on the TRD 18's. OOHC 11-13-2003, 10:37 PM Just wondering considering that it is a 7.5 in with a 215 tire. I know alot of members here said that would have fitment problems with a 40+ offset. Thanks TheRedBox 11-13-2003, 11:50 PM I have a +42 offset and i dont have any problems at all. OOHC 11-14-2003, 12:54 AM With what size rim/tire. Indy007 11-14-2003, 01:46 PM TRD Catalog doesn't say, just says 18 or 19 x 7.5 with 215/35R18 & R19 tires. So if Doesn't say on the trdusa.com either, but if I were to geuss I'd say it's probably a 40 offset. Docofmind 11-14-2003, 04:13 PM They sit pretty far inside the car. I would even venture to say it might be a 42mm I just put my wheels on last night and they are 18 x 7.5 with a 45mm offset. I added 6mm spacers so that would bring them to roughly a +39mm. The rear def could go another 20mm easily, the front maybe another 10 bringing them to a 29-30 Im not lowered yet but will be soon with TRD springs. I also am running 215/40 tires instead of the 35. That was probably the best thing i could have done. Im sure i may have lost a lil power, but the ride quality and look were well worth it. Indy007 11-25-2003, 08:52 PM Got a set for stock today. They're a 42 offset. They're also stamped RH Evolution inside the rim, and the TRD Sports logo is a sticker. OOHC 11-26-2003, 12:38 PM Thanks for the tip. Hey do you know who us making their springs and struts. I would assume KYB and Eibach. Indy007 12-09-2003, 01:40 PM Fit perfect under the TRD springs, no rub, no adjustments, no spacers. pics: http://www.geocities.com/IndyXB/ ScionVan 12-11-2003, 11:03 AM The TRD springs and struts/shocks for the Scions are actually from Japan and made by Waydo. OOHC 12-11-2003, 12:57 PM I don't want to say you are wrong but how did ytou find this out. I have heard the springs are made by Eibach, but never saw anything to prove it. Never heard of Waydo but do you have any info on them. Thanks ScionVan 12-11-2003, 01:20 PM I don't want to say you are wrong but how did ytou find this out. It says so on the box... :) And the springs are made by the same company. http://sr20.hybrids.jp/van/scion/first_bbq/images/06.jpg http://sr20.hybrids.jp/van/scion/first_bbq/images/07.jpg OOHC 12-11-2003, 02:26 PM Hey like I said neer didn't believe you. No one was really sure who was making their struts/shocks. Thanks for the info. Do you have any info on Waydo. OOHC 12-11-2003, 02:41 PM Did some searching and looks like Waydo is just TRD in Japan. Kinda hard to get anymore info then that since everything is in Japanese. When I get a chance I will get a language converter and post some info. toyota_ist 12-11-2003, 04:18 PM "Waydo" is a term use by TRD for all their RV, SUV and 4X4 suspension parts in Japan. Waydo is not a manufacturer's name. OOHC 12-11-2003, 04:36 PM Ok so back to the original ? Who makes the struts/shocks and springs for the Scion. ScionVan 12-11-2003, 06:36 PM Urgh, that is right, the brand name of the TRD shocks and springs is Waydo (and Waydo Sportivo), but the manufacturer is I believe KYB? Gotta look at the actual stamping on the shock unit... OOHC 12-11-2003, 08:24 PM My guess would be KYB and Eibach. I'll check and see if I can find out. |
