Default Q About RS2 and "Pure Price"

I'm about to get an RS2 tC. I went to a dealership here and got treated like ****. It's like once they find out you're not interested in a Toyota, the sales people ignore you and suddenly have bad manners. I guess Scion's sell themeselves. Anyway, my question is regarding pricing. I went on Scion's website and it says the "Pure Price" thing can also be altered by dealerships, so they can change them if they wish. Is it possible to get this car at invoice price? How? Also, besides all these additional fees, the taxes that need to be paid are the regular sales taxes? I figure then I add 6% to any of the prices below and that's be the final price? This is what I figure(Invoice and MSRP):

06 Manual tC RS 2.0:
Invoice -
Base $15485 + Del/Proc/Hand $635 + Accessories $1842 + Documentation $599 = $18561
MSRP -
Base $16300 + Del/Proc/Hand $635 + Accessories $1960 +Documentation $599 = $19494

06 Automatic tC RS 2.0:
Invoice -
Base $16245 + Del/Proc/Hand $635 + Accessories $1842 + Documentation $599 = $19321
MSRP -
Base $17100 + Del/Proc/Hand $635 + Accessories $1960 + Documentation $599 = $20294

Thanks.

theres no way you can get it at invoice price... the price for the RS 2.0 manual is 18,800 before register and taxes..

yea, scion dealerships can potentially lose their license to sell scions if they dont act in accordiance with their pure price protocol.

What is on the sticker is what you will pay, anywhere in the United States.

True, dealers can alter the price, but they have to do so on ALL of the cars, and advertise it. They can't just slip one to you at a discount.

Discounts and sales are for distressed and slow moving items. For instance, you can massive rebates on full-size p/u's and SUV's, because they are collecting dust. You can walk into a department store in Miami right now and get a sweater at 80% off. However, a dealer has ZERO incentive to lower the price on a vehicle that you practically have to take a number to buy.

Goto Kendall Toyota-Scion in Miami.

There is NO way they can alter the price for the vehicle OR accessories. I paid sticker price for my RS 2.0 and I paid full price for the other accessories I ordered for my tC, also.

The guy I bought my RS 2.0 was an ___, didn't know anything, and practically had his manager do the entire sale. I wanted the car because it was #128 and there were no others around my town. I just stuck it out. You should probably do that... Just never get it serviced there if they treat you bad.

Indeed, indeed. But if you buy from the dealer, you pay what Scion demands, not a penny more/less.

In conclusion, Pure Price means pure, no alterations.

Good luck with your new RS 2.0 purchase.

Default Paid

I paid 19200 for my RS2.0 ,but I got 400 off for grad college.

Side note: You can battle the interest rate on your car. If they tell you have to get the scion rate, tell to F@#k off because you can. Tell them you will write a letter saying you dont want scion finanical rates and to up you on the open market. Thats what I did and i got 6.99n for 72 months, They wanted to bone me for 7.4. I no way!

You can get your money from anywhere you want to. Bank, C/U, mom, or Loan Shark....it just doesn't matter.

They have to charge you the posted rate they can post from as many banks as possible. If you are not approved from the posted banks the dealership is allowed to do whatever they wish on the financing.

Generally speaking, shorter term = lower rate.

these are the variables involved w/determining your apr everywhere:

-Credit worthiness
-length of time of loan
-Loan to Value (a ratio determined by the $$amount of loan/worth of collateral
-What you are borrowing for

Wherever you get your money from, these are the same main criterian they use. They buy the money at a certain rate, and then sell at a higher rate. That's it.

You guys (and gals) with the accessories are wrong, wrong, wrong. I bought several add-ons at the time of purchase and got a huge discount on all of them. I got almost $500 off my rims/tires alone and about 15% on all other items.

In retrospect, I could have gotten a better deal buying them later on the web, but I did get the discount, the dealer install warranty on my parts and low % financing for my extra cost.

The vehicle price was another story, they wouldn’t move on the price but I got them to give me another grand for my trade in over their initial offer. So that was like getting a discount or less screwed on my trade, however you want to look at it.

The sales market I’m in is very brutal and one dealer will do just about anything to get those last few sales at the end of the month to beat out the other dealers in the area. Looks good on those reports that go to the mothership.

I have an RS 2.0 and got it for 21k out the door. But thats with everything.. low jack, 100k mileage warranty, And the other little things they said should be charged. The limited edition with the upgraded pioneer system w/ xm satellite radio and yeah tahts about it so yeah 21,700 out the door. Wasn't too bad for a new car. And it was a showroom car that I fell inlove with. Price is the best for what I get.

ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT.

Pure Pricing means that the transaction price MUST match the advertised price. By advertised price, we mean what is on dealership's website and what is posted in the dealership's showroom.

A dealer can charge WHATEVER price they want, as long as it is POSTED. And as long as everyone that DAY pays the same posted price.

I know of some dealers in TN that are charging $1500 OVER MSRP for the RS 2.0. It's posted, and therefore, it's kosher.
