Default Apple Ipod

Hello,

Is there an adapte which can plug directly into the back of my pioneer dvh-p5000mp to play the audio tunes? Right now I use the fm modulator it it really sucks, most the stations are already taken or cut in and out which ruins the sound. I thought for sure that someone would make a direct connection for car stereo's, I searched but could not find! Thanks for the help!

i think you would have to get the input wire from your speakers and instead of hooking it up to the radio like it comes u need 2 pull it out from there, and put the input wire from speakers into the headphone plug in on the top of the i-pod.
glad 2 help ya if im right.

Yea, that made absolutly NO SENSE. You need to purchase an Aux-in to RCA plug for your iPod - then either an RCA input adapter for your HU, or connect the Aux-in to RCA plug to the RCA inputs on your headunit (if your model has them).

Stop by here, these people are great: http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/for...a1b&forumid=44

Default Anyone figure out a solution for the single CD stock HU?

I have the original single CD stock HU. Did anyone figure out how to hook an RCA input into this beast or am I just out of luck. I'm currently using an FM transmitter for my iPod by DLO called the Transpod. I tried emailling a couple of the parts suppliers linked to the iPodLounge like rbloedow suggested but they don't respond or don't know what they are talking about.

try doing a search on ipodlounge. I remember seeing tons of posts about it, and even a few how-to's. Alpine is supposed to be releasing a I-pod controllable H/U, but im not sure when its coming out.

you are looking for for a "wired" FM modulator.
crutchfield.com has them.
It intercepts your antenna feed. gives you a left and right rca plugs. then you plug in the rca to ipod adaptor (you can find everywhere).

I have one in my box. sounds great.

Yea the wireless fm modulators suck in bigger cities.
this sounds stock and costs from 30 to 70 bucks.

a couple of posts here in the forum have cheap sources....

you can figure it out at pie.net, they make the best adapters to plug into your sat input on the back of your radio. I still am trying to figure out what to do.

wow sorry i didn't see this...

all you need is pioneer part #CDRB10 which you can get at your local pioneer dealer, and a mini to rca plug from radio shack or the audio section of your favorite electronics store... best buy, tweeter...

Will this work with the 6-disk indash? Allowing for use of the AUX device and the 6-disk. I wanted to know if this would disable the 6-disk.

Just came across this today. Looks pretty cool. I don't have an ipod (I'm an iRiver guy) or I'd give it a shot myself.
http://www.pac-audio.com/

Here is a description from the manufacturer web site:
And get direct sound from your iPod™ into your factory stereo. No more sound degrading FM modulator. Get clean, high quality sound playing through your factory radio. Change tracks on your iPod™ from the factory radio or steering wheel (vehicles with audio controls on steering wheel). The AUX-POD automatically turns off the iPod™ when the radio is out of AUX-mode or when vehicle/radio is turned off. The iPod™ also charges the iPod™ when connected to the AUX-POD. The AUX-POD works on the iPod™ mini and 2nd generation iPods.

The AUX-POD consists of an AUX-BOX Universal Auxiliary Audio Input interface and an Apple iPod™ interface connector. To use the AUX-BOX with your vehicle, you will need to order a specific vehicle harness

that device looks like it will work...but I'm a little skeptical about the website when you look at it and it says that it will work for toyota radios from 98-2004 when you put Scion in as the car choice...but the Scions use a different plug than is on the back of the toyota radios...

Yeh I noticed that too. Although they do say "Some 2003-2004 4x4 models require a special cable from Toyota dealership. Part #08695-00370 ". Maybe that would do the trick? They also say that the adapter for the Matrix would work. Perhaps worth a call to PAC from one of you ipod freaks. I'd be interested to hear how this thing worked out.

Ok...this was the e-mail I got back from them:

The Scion takes the same cable as the Toyota but you need to purchase the special cable from a Toyota dealer. The cable part number is 08695-00370, this cable will plug in behind the radio and then you will plug the AB-TOY cable into the 08695-00370 cable.

Thank you,

hi,

great site!

new here, waiting for a new xA that i just ordered, but not new to auto sound and ipods. save your money. just get the pioneer CDRB10 aux input adapter which plugs into the rear of the stock CD deck. the other end of the CDRB10 has two RCA female plugs. hook up a standard RCA male plug to stereo mini jack cable, available at any store that sells electronics, and you're golden.

or you can do what i did and mount the ipod's cradle (dock in apple-speak) in the console, and run audio output from the dock. no visible cables. then you just pop the ipod in its dock and viola:

that FM transmitter is the reason he is looking to hard-wire it to his H/U. not too many people have had luck with those things. too bad we dont drive BMW's, there is a hardwire connection in the glove box and you can control it from the steeringwheel or headunit.

If yall dont mind waiti9ng another month alpine is coming out with the system similar to whats used on the bmws. It will work with any alpine head thats AI capable. A cable runs to the back of it then runs trough a box and plugs into the data port on the ipod. You can controll the through the head unit or the headunit remote which allows you to plug the ipod in and forget about it. They have info on it on the alpine website.
