Looks pretty IMO, but only with his car color, lol. Doubt it'll have the same effect on my silver.

I have those TYC tail lights on my RS 2. Makes the back end look really nice.

not sure on my black one though... i am getting to like it since i do not have any other choices... maybe i will get those tyc lights

Its the guy in that link his name is scott. And the price varies from 60-150 depending on whether they are stockies/tycs and the design u choose. He apparently dos highly meticulous work.

Mine were $150. There are two layers of high quality film that is precision cut and molded around to the backside of the tail light. Think of it like wrapping a present.

This way, the edges are not exposed to anything that might make them decide to peal and since it's tight, the cut areas will not bubble or peal either.

This is one case where you get what you pay for. Anyone looking to do anything to their tail lights should talk to Scott aka The Overlay Guy.

sorry, but the quality of Real tinted tails with professional clear coats will just humble overlays... the gloss/reflectivity+consistent color amazes me everytime...

services like www.jonstintedtails.com will set the whole thing up, plus do custom darkness and style for less than 100 bucks, and just "Smoke" the overlay offerings! :P

Besides, the way I had mine done qualifies as a 'custom' job from them (due to the untinted section) and doesn't include shipping. At best I would've saved about $20, and I'd have had to start waxing my tail lights :p

Not overlays, its Vans Lens Paint. :P Cost? $24. (A can that is.) Its even cheaper than overlays. Looks 100x better than overlays too IMHO. (No film lines anywhere.) Thanks for the kind words.

I can understand the cynacism towards the standard overlays, but the one's with the fine lines and exact precision look to be of amazing quality. Not to mention this is 2 layers and 150 including install for a very intricate pattern and it includes insurance.

It looks good except it will look like you are hitting the brake when you are in the reverse.

Um...no it won't, two different bulbs in different locations. And you haven't seen redout overlays for the reverse light yet? Don't schwett his nuts, you know they'd look hot on your RS1. :P

Do YOU drive in 'Reverse'? When I back out, it's like all of hmmm...6 or 7 seconds. :P (If that long.) They do look white-ish red, but NOT PINK!! I was going to leave the reverse portion of the TYC clear, but I said, "what the hell--let's paint the whole tail light red." Looks better that way IMHO. Its still easy to distinguish between the RED LED Brake Lights and the White 'Reverse' bulbs.

Outside x2. I painted the outside of the TYCs and I painted outside. j/k. Real easy process, but I can't tell you. Top Secret! :lol: (Send me a PM and I'll let you know.)

the tyc's from yoursciontc.com.. are overlays and they look good,,, but too thick so defeats the purpose...i bet my tyc with custom tinting will look the best on here.

these are all nice improvements to the tyc's, but i really want some clear lenses for the front and rear. no red, amber or nothing. all clear. all chrome might be nice if the design was done right to where it didn't look cheap. i think i'll just have to settle for colormatching my headlights and maybe some overlays for some aftermarket led tails, assuming the leds don't burn out quick...
