Default BomZ CAI installed...now my mpg went to crap

Recently installed a new Bomz CAI on Friday and the install was a breeze, no problems what so ever. Now before I installed this, I was getting about 30 MPG, now after I installed it my MPG went to approx. 20MPG.... I was under the assumption that one of these would improve my gas mileage because of less air restriction etc.

What could I have missed. I was wondering about the Mass Air Sensor not having a gasket if it would be leaking....

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!

John

BomZ?

Ohhh, that's ebay.

I'd recheck every singe bolt.

What happened to my Injen intake after 4k miles, was the hose clamps came loose, and the filter came off the pipe! Which gave me ____ poor gasmm mileage.

Almost always: You Get What You Pay For. Best to research what your going to buy. Consider it a learning expierence. I would say that 98% of car stuff listed on ebay is junk.

No, I do not think ebay was the problem. It was my error in installing it and forgetting to tighten the hoseclamp. What is the difference between the bomz and the k&N that one would have to pay over $250? I just do not see it....

mpg will always go down after installing an intake. Why? Leadfoot wants to test out the new toy. Let the novelty wear off for a couple weeks and you'll probably see an improvement

No, Ebay itself is not the problem. Whats listed on Ebay is. Performance wise there all pretty much the same i.e. AEM, Injen, etc. The difference is with the part quality and fitment. For $15 you know that Bomz put in very little time into there product. Just out to make a quick buck. I do think a lot of the reason why people buy the tube style CAI or SRI is just for the look, except everbody has the same look. I see beat up, rusted Hondas with an APC SRI's all the time. Why would you want to be lumped in with that crowd. Do the research and find out whats worth it to you.

Silly, the only carbs that exist these days are what's in your Count Chocula. The last carbureted car produced was the Subaru Justy in 1993.

Hell I am impressed you got it to bolt on. I bought one on a whime, and it fit so bad I put it back in the box. It wasn't worth the effort.
