Default Pirelli PZero Nero M+S Opinions

What do you all think of these tires:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....o+M%26S#Survey

I know that these are the exact or similar tires on the optional 18s, but i'm wondering if anyone has any opinions of em. I need new tires soon and i'm planning on putting the 225's on my stock 17s. These tires any good?

(Sorry if this is a duplicate thread - i couldn't find this info anywhere)

well i had them before.. high in defects.. tread squirming left to right.. must've gone through 8 of them and were still defective.. NO JOKE

sure they're okay if you can get some good ones, but I gave up on them since 8 defectives in a row and counting is a bit much.. I went with Toyo Proxes4 at least Toyo knows quality. And I'm quite happy with the Toyo's.. my friend on his tc has them, so i thought i'd try them.. Stock size 215/45-17, great tire.. Very happy with it..

So don't waste your time on the Pirelli Pzero Nero m&S.. i've been there, it wasn't pretty..

Also the Toyo Proxes4 comes in a 225/45-17 if you wanted to go with that size..

I'm at about 5k miles on my PZero Nero M+S in 225/45/17.

So far so good, no defects. They won't grip as well as a true high performance summer tire, but as an all-season tire, they work great.

Lots of rain here in the NW and they've handled the wet well. No fears of hydroplaning.

They're good according to tirerack. The 18" Enkei wheel option comes with them.

They're second only to the Avon Tech M550's (Which I have, myself).

i guess my whole point was vibration, tire place blamed the roads, the wheels.. none of which would account for this vibration, so i made them put the pzero nero up on the balancer.. and watch.. tread shifting side to side.. so if you do get them, and you have a vibration, that's why, they didn't glue the tread evenly.. lol..

just for me, i'll never go back to pirelli after 8 defectives and counting.. i used to think pirelli was good, but not after that many defectives.. and i did have the wheels measured for runout, perfect, not a problem with the wheels or alignment..

just had to clarify..

I've had mine for a little over a year (and 6,500 miles) with NO problems whatsoever. I could really feel the difference in handling over the stock tires right away. A great all-season, low profile tire!

I have heard good and bad on those pirellis. I have heard probably 80% bad and 20% good on the proxes, or any mid priced toyo product. I have heard nothing but good with the avons. For the price they are rated very well. Those are most likely what I will be getting this summer when mine are ready to replace. If the reviews I have heard everywhere are correct, and the quality is anything like their motorcycle tires, then I am sure they will be great tires.

I had some bad luck with Pirelli tires in the past, no the PZero, but nevertheless, it turned me off to the company. I'd have to see a LOT of consistently amazing reviews for several years before I'd consider buying that brand again. Kind of like GM turned me off to their brands, regardless of what kind of amazing auto they *might* be making today or in the future.

What do you all think about the Avon Tech M550s? I saw that it was briefly mentioned by krdshrk - how do you like em? pros/cons

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ech+M550+A%2FS

These are supposed to be the #1 rated in the class- but God knows what that means...any reviews here?

and they come in 225s that you can throw onto the stock rims, right? I see the 225/45/17, so it should be cool?
