You pay what the sticker says. If dealers sell new ones for less than that - they can get in some trouble with corporate.

And most used ones are going for more than new.

Would you also pay the destination charge? I hear it's already included in the price, yet dealers still claim it trying to get $500 more into their pockets.

Default Used Scion xB

I bought mine used, a 2004, and I got a decent price. If I could have bought a new one, I would have. From the research I did (which was extensive) the used prices vary a lot depending on how popular the car is where you live.

Unless you find one that is salvage or with 100,000 miles on it you will not get a better deal then buying a new one. I have read about people finding them at around what you are saying you have--but they have really had to look hard and get lucky. They have found them at dealers that did not know what they were. Good luck!!

I believe the destination charges vary and are not necessarily included in to the sticker price.

When I bought my tC... I paid almost exactly what was listed on the scion website when you use the "build your scion" thing.

The xB depreciates so slowly that it is not usually worth it to buy used, at least not yet.

Also, order it bone stock, w/o all the goofy dealer options on there, so you'll get the lowest possible price. I just had cruise control on mine with a manual under $15k

Your title reminds me of that saying, "How much wood could a woodchuck wood...". Don't buy a used one. Dealers are marking the $%^& out of them. (I don't know about your area, but over here they are.) Since you've saved up that much $cratch, you might as well save up the rest of the $3K and get a new one. Plus, there's nothing like that new car smell!

Best smell in the world. They need to make a women's perfume that smells like new car. That would be awesome.

as stated above, if you put 13k down on a 15k car there should not be any problems financing the rest no matter what your credit score is.

I only had 13k to spend also....I found a manual 2004 w/16,000 miles for $12,800 on ebay. This one had "extras" tint, door sills, mats, wheels, leather steering wheel, blue interior lighting and was in mint condition. I did not want to buy new, and I am very happy with my car. Paying cash is much better than any car payment. Search the internet. there is bound to be something in that price range.

2005 under $13,000http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SCION-XB-35K-LOADED-CUSTOM-WHEELS-MINT-COND-WHOLESALE_W0QQitemZ4646514754QQcategoryZ116486QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
