He candies it with any color of your choice then uses clear coat. It's quite time consuming and a lot of work. I have never seen such a perfect piece of crafstmanship. I would never consider buying any other tailights since these ones are so pristene and unique. Make sure it has UV protection like automotive grade clear or it will still fade.
