I use it in my Accord and at the same time that I changed to Royal Purple I also installed a K&N Filter and my gas mileage jumped from about 260 miles to the tank to about 340 to the tank. The motor also runs alot smoother as well.

Their stuff must me good, Ford uses the gear lube straight outta the factory in their cars and trucks, and I heard the oil is next on the list.

independent studies showed that RP averaged 1-3% gains in HP and torque. vs. other leading fully syn. oils. such as castrol, mobil one.. so on and so forth. and no i do not work for RP 8)

It wasn't a full intake either all I did was the drop in K&N air filter, I don't think that that would make that much of a difference but with the two combined it was great. :D

What about Lucas Products? Anyone use them? Not just the additives but the actual oil.

I put the Royal Purple gear lube in my Manual Trans last night. It feels smoother and easier to shift. Worth the money.

I wanna know from someone who knows more about the lubricants than I do, which would be better, Royal Purple products or Lucas oil products?

How do I put the RP in my manual transmission? I mean, if I need to drain something, change something and where is the hole because I haven't even look at it. :)

Carlanga,

There are 2 plugs you need to remove. One to empty, one to refill. The factory manual will show you where the plugs are. It also recommends to change the plug gaskets, they are one time use only. The plugs are both the same. One is on the bottom of the case towards the driver tire, the other on the front towards the radiator. Putting the fluid back in is a pain in the ___. It takes two full bottles.

Just picked-up my money truck, anyone know what the deal is w/ the free o/changes? Do you have wait behind the lexuses and toyotas or what. I'm a big fan of the purple stuff, my bro uses it in his evo, not too sure it will be of help to my box until i make some mods. What type of oil do they use @ the dealer, do you have a choice? I want to switch over right away to Syn but i heard that you should wait 3,000 miles before making the switch

It's up to you what type of oil you use, all are good so long as you use the correct weight. I ALWAYS use Mobile 1. I am in the military and the "hobby shop" on the base sells it for $2.10 a quart. I buy it by the box and usually save a few more dollars. That's not to say that a quality conventional oil wouldn't be as good, It's just that I've always used mobile 1. I've torn down engines that have had mobile 1 since first oil change with over 200,000 and they had virtually no wear (D16Z6 out of a 92 honda civic EX). Mobile 1 never seems to disapoint.
