from what i have read you would get 1 or 2 more hp from the header but doing the crank pulley will cost half as much as the header

The header for a fact will net the largest gains. The pulley would be a great upgrade for the future... if you can choose only one for now... definitly the header man!

Go with the header

sounds like headers are the best bet..

definitely pulley.....half as much as a header, and if zpi (although its not underdrive like you're looking for) ever gets theirs back in stock, they're bringin 11 hp and 18 tq. header can prolly match the hp, but i highly doubt a header can get 18 lb-ft of tq.

Unless you can pull a few grand out of your pocket to repair the problems that could occur from removing the dampered oem pulley, I'd suggest going with the header.

If you dont have that much money go with the pulley, it will give some hp and you will feel it from the moment you step on it.Unlike the header you start to feel the diff. in a couple of days, but if you have the money to buy the header buy it, it will give you more hp than anyother mod.(except for high com. pistons or the camcon)

They are both good ideas. Most headers will net you similar power gains as an underdrive pulley actually. The major difference is that the header will add to your peak horsepower number while the underdrive crank pulley will get you a bit of improvement along your entire power band. There is one area where the header wins, on the butt and ear dyno! The header changes your car's tone and will make you think you are getting better results than you actually are getting!

Oh no, not another one of these comments. As of now, there is no evidence that the lightened pullies have any ill effects on the tC's engine.

If my comments can stop some 17 year old kid living with his parents from racking up a bill for $4,000 for parts/labor on a new engine, then I'll make them in every one of these threads that come up. Putting an undampened pulley on a car that needs one is a ____ing stupid thing to do. Risking engine life for a ____ant little 10 horsepower isn't worth it.
