hey guys, saw Cars the Movie yesturday and seriously tho the xB is in the movie. Its in the scene with the 3 tuners with one muscle cars messin with Mack. Funny as hell too

I saw the movie with my sister yesterday, I honestly don't think DJ, the blue one pictured above, is an xB, just a fictional car of similar design.

Yes, parts of it look xBish like the roof. But the headlights don't look right at all plus it's only a 2 dr.. I had hoped an xB would be in the movie. I guess it looks close enough?

Not so--Ramone is a 59 Impala as stated on the Cars website and of course Doc Hudson is a Hudson. But you are right--its a Pixar movie!! Maybe DJ is the much awaited replacement for the xB!

many of the characters where real cars. i knwo the race fan twisn where miatas. GREAT movie. did anyone else notice the sparkplugs on top of the gas station? (read in a mag that its the firing order for a hemi, i think)

Of course it's designed off of the xb/bB. It's got a stupid useless body kit, and an even more useless spoiler, sounds like an xB to me. What other box shaped ricer does America have?

Most of the characters were real cars. There's also the Superbird and Monte SS Nascars, the Miata groupies, the Quattroportes at the end...
Anybody else notice the bad guy (Michael Keaton) character was patterned after Dale Earnhardt? I thought that was interesting, since Dale Jr. has a cameo as himself.

Honestly, who rice's PT Cruisers to look like anything other than a Hot rod, who rice's RAV-4's? Who rice's an HHR concept? Sorry but the only boxy shaped car being riced around here is the xB.

Im with them it was an awesome movie that tried to please all car enthusiests (sp) by portraying all walks of life. :bow: :bow: I give Pixar two thumbs up for creativity and can't wait to see what has been under their sleave when they break away from Disney in the next movie. :eyebrow: :wink:

i think DJ in the movie is a xB, somewhat. when i saw the movie this weekend the first thing I thought when i saw it was "that's a box!" I do think it is an xB just highly modified. just my opinion though...

I would say Eclipse or that huge multi winged plane that always caves in on itself when it tries to fly.

I thought the same thing when i first saw it but after really looking at it as best i could i wasnt quite sure. It would be cool if it were supposed to be an xB.

I remember reading an article in autoweek where one of the Pixar guys said something about the box cars from Japan. I think he liked them if I recall. This wasn't in the issue that featured the Cars movie. It was in a couple of issues earlier.

Saw the movie tongiht......I think DJ was at least influenced by the xB. All the audio equipment in the back says xB...

There are still a very few buildings here along Route 66 that kind of look like the buildings in the movie. Some very old motels and service stations that have been turned into other uses. Enjoyed the movie with my grandson.....

I found it intersting too. To me, "Cars" is worth buying, I will probably do so in a few weeks. I saw it at the theatre originally.
