View Full Version : Guesses on what will be the first things to break...
GeminiTwin 06-22-2004, 11:16 PM Hi All,
I'd like to preface this post by saying that I love the Scion tC and am currently waiting for my Black Cherry Pearl to come in.
The only concerns I have (though not serious) are that there are two interior parts of the Scion tC that seem like they might break easily: the cover for the stereo and the plastic shades for the moonroofs.
Is anyone else concerned about these items or any other parts? Just curious what others think. Thanks in advance for sharing any opinions.
RussianTC 06-22-2004, 11:19 PM Holly ____! I was going to start this thread later tonight, and guess what my top two things were going to be... yep, the stereo cover and the sunroof shades. Wow, that's crazy!!!
GeminiTwin 06-22-2004, 11:24 PM I guess great minds think alike, RussianTC! It will be interesting to hear what others have to say...
Rousterfar 06-22-2004, 11:26 PM Hope it wont be that sunroof! WOuld be a pain to get fixed.
and the sliding covers on the "vanity" mirrors and the cover to the change compartment.
I don't think its going to be much of a problem for me... i'm probably going to leave the stereo cover open 95% of the time. The sunroofs i'll probably be opening and closing frequently, it does seem a little cheap but I dont think it would be a problem.
the stereo cover is probably gonna be the first thing to break :X, i'll just leave it open all the time.
Undecided_Fate 06-23-2004, 02:01 AM i usually dont break things in my car but... the first thing thatll probably break for me is the glove box. i have a bad habit of overstuffing the glove box with napkins and the manual and car papers and stuff.
imo... its gonna depend on the owner of the car and how he/she takes care of it.
Kaeon 06-23-2004, 02:15 AM Peoples necks when they see it drive by....
cornfield 06-23-2004, 02:36 AM things break internaly if you're animal or let animals in your car.
Trdkamuri510 06-23-2004, 02:53 AM well ripping counts as a break. the center console fabric already feels like its comming off and i didnt buy the car
Fly_By_Nite 06-23-2004, 03:42 AM The 1st thing to break is my HEART because I haven't got my tC yet....hahaha
Kaeon 06-23-2004, 03:51 AM Amen

Definatly! There will always be the hard owners. But my guess would be the sunroof shades.
Superinc_tC 06-23-2004, 10:30 AM breaking my back, making love with them fold down seats , watching the stars, hearing some mp3s , rocking that double wishbone suspension  ...........lmao , j/k
xlr8_bigmike 06-23-2004, 01:31 PM wonder why i they put that stero coverr? i dont like looks like it would just get in the way.
ric44 06-23-2004, 01:37 PM Stop and picture the roof for a moment. Where would solid shades go???? hmmmm?
Venetian blind style retractors were the only option.
More tourque and interior space than the RSX, at 5K less.
The Civic? Please......
The GTI? tC has rear wisbone suspension and reliability
The Mitsubishi? tC has better handling, better handling and better handling,,,,
Any other competitors???????
Not one person has mentioned the knee bolster airbag.... otherwise standard ONLY in the BMW 7 series.....
Name ANY other car in or above it's class w/ this list of standard features for 16,400..... I dare you.
but remember...not just available, STANDARD FEATURES
erickjam 06-23-2004, 03:12 PM I like breaking necks as I drive by,
and breaking door hinges on those Civics that think they can hang.
Out
cornfield 06-23-2004, 05:34 PM I think the stereo cover is nice. makes the dash look cleaner. Adds to the cascading look. :D
JUMBO 06-23-2004, 06:28 PM I love my new Black Cherry demo. Drives like a dream, and the auto performs remarkably well. At speed, the car begs for more. And it pushes through turns like a rear driver. Love it.
The stereo cover is actually more sturdy than I thought it would be. And the sliding covers for the roof are OK. They may curl up a bit after a while, but the mechanism feels pretty solid.
tC in Chattanooga at Capital Scion! Ask for Jon. Ready for test drives!
I think that there is one in Memphis as well at Covington Pike. Ask for Thomas there. He's cool.
I'm ready for questions, everyone! LATER
TrafficinLA 06-23-2004, 07:24 PM The first to break will be the speed limit
Then it'll most likely be moonroof because I'll be showing off to people
Open, tilt, close, tilt, open close, tilt open
