Default Newbie intro and Invite to BeaveRun for TLS Challenge Day

Hello,

My name is Chris. I recently bought an xA for daily use. I have been a long time Celica GT-Four / All-Trac owner, as well as a handful of other Toyota and Nissan.

http://www.fairladyz33.com
http://www.rallygt4.com

I'll have pics of my 2006 PW xA soon. Ordered some wheels, intake, exhaust, etc. So far I've found this to be an extremely fun car.

A little about me:
I'm a Professional Driving Instructor out of BeaveRun MotorSports ComPlex in Western PA http://www.beaverun.com I teach any form of motorsports from rally to our very own 007 Experience. We offer quite a bit of training from teenage programs to executive protection for the Dept of Defense. IF there are questions about any training please ask.

To the point:
I am offering a Toyota/Lexus/Scion challenge day Aug 12th. This will include an Auto x and Rally x (for those interested). The cost is $40 pre-registered or $50 at the gate.

I would personally love to meet any and all local ScionLife members!

(Please, I'm new to this forum; if anything is not permitted in my above post, let me know!!!!)

Thanks!! and I guess I'm a newb again.

Any how.. just wanted to drop a line and say hello.

Wow, I never for the life of me thought I'd see another person from New Castle on this board, and it took almost 2 years! Welcome. I think I've seen your xA around town recently as PW xA's aren't very common. I'm almost positive though I saw your Z the other day headed S on Wilmington road. I had a PW xB up until the end of April. Pretty much stock except for the exhaust which was fairly loud, so you may have seen me too at some point.

Question for you -- what kind of helmet is best for autox/track use like the Flat Out days you guys have? Is open faced ok, or is full faced the preferred way to go? I wear glasses too, so that's a consideration. Having no helmet yet has kept me from trying autox yet this year, so any advice would be appreciated.

Hey man!

Hrmm.. don't think I've had the Z up there recently. The Z stays parked inside most of the time.

As far as the helmet, open face is fine. 2000+ is what they have been requiring for track days/open lapping days and auto x has been a mix of things. (our auto x is "low key")

Best is hard to define. I prefer a open face for most (car) motor sports. But, whatever you like to wear would be fine. (as long as up to spec)

Gimme a hollar some time and we can get together and shoot the ****.

Peace.

I'm interested in this event. We need some Western PA representation on these boards.

Sadly, this event may get cancelled.

I have been offering pre-registration for a while.. and well, the numbers suck.

There were over 100 people that were interested in this event. When the time came to collect money. lol....

SO... I will see what I can do to keep the event running. I may just downsize it.

I've been representing the Western PA scene for years. From multiple Celica Gt-Four, MR2, the Z and now back to Toy land with the iST.

I'd love to see a lot more of you local guys up at the track for the events. It's really a freakin' sweet time; and once you're hooked; you're hooked. ;)

IF YOU ARE SERIOUSLY INTERESTED IN ATTENDING THE TLS CHALLENGE DAY, PM or EMAIL ME ASAP!!

Thanks!

Shame to hear about the event, I'd opt in if I still had my Scion, but alas . . . We also have a baby due 8/2, so things are on hold in general this year until that all settles down. Still, love to get together sometime and talk, I'll check my schedule and see when I have some freetime -- maybe meet up at King's or Perkins, or wherever's convenient.
