ATTN SOCAL OWNERS: Want a safety cage installed?
I want to purchase a rollcage for my XB...I have another child on the way, so that means scooting my son to the side to make room for another child seat. However, the thing that makes me uneasy is the fact that the xb is so light and the doors feel like paper mache. The fact that there is no side curtain airbag only mitigates my fear further having gone through two side-impacts with previous cars (first was drunk driver crossing red light, second was inattentive speeder).
I called Autopower in San Diego, and they have one for the TC, but not the XB. They would be willing to make one, but first they need someone to lend them their XB. I'd do it were it not for the 400 miles away I am. Would anybody from that area be willing to be the first to have a safety cage installed in their XB? I'm sure the people there would be willing to give you a much discounted price for lending them your car so they can make a master.
The number over there is 619-297-3300 and ask for Don.
Otherwise, I haven't been able to find anyone that sells one.
