Thread title says it all, thanks. I just ordered a Motor-fx carbon fiber hood so when it comes I'd like the aid of a write-up (if there is one) to help me along the way, and so I know if there's anything tricky to look out for as the one I'm getting is coming pre-drilled for washer nozzles and what not...

hmm.... nothing really... just remove old hood and stick on the new one...

nothing too complicated.

you might want to buy those tab remover tools to help you pop off that foam heat sheild thing under the hood though

replacing the hood is practically the most easiest thing i've done to the car yet.. even adding my cf eyelids was harder than replacing the hood..

anyway..

If i remember correctly, I used a 12mm or 13mm (1 of the 2 for sure) hand socket.. and unbolted the 4 bolts that holds it. took off the washer nozzles and put aside the water lines (I have a cf hood that doesn't have pre-drilled nozzle holes so like you said, the motor fx has them predrilled.. just easily place it on there.) I didn't re-use the heat shield. I suggest you have a friend to hold the hood while you do unbolt. so take those off.. then with a friend, hold up the cf hood and bolt all 4 but not all the way.. just snug enough so that you can move it around. with it loose.. close the hood then make adjustments and line up the hood with the fenders so it won't be all retarded looking. then slow open it so your settings don't move.. and tighten up.. then that's it.

Use a paint can key (opener) wrapped in blue painter's tape to get the heat sheild clips off.
