I am a crew chief at Luke AFB. I was thinking of organizing an event to roll out in mass to the base and do a field trip see the F-16's up close. Maybe even have our scions on the flight line to take pics with the jets.
First I need to know how many people would want to. No dates are confirmed I need to see how big this is gonna be before making the arangments. Also this is the first event I will have done so any tips are appriciated. We could make it a half day event with BBQ the sky is the limit.
If you reply please just let me know how many including yourself you would be bringing. I'm thinking SEPT or OCT ish

You're really gonna try to get all that done??? good luck with that, getting the people in maybe, but the cars...that's a lot of people to talk to to get that done. but hey if you got the time and initiative...go for it, Excellence In All You Do hahahaha(I'm also at Luke)

Unfortunately I must agree, it will be tough to get all of us in. Hey, I'm down for trying anything though. I think the picture with the F-16's would look great. I could get a nice size one and frame it for my dad. He is a retired Captain and career AF man. He would love it. Count me in!!!!!!!

i would really like to do this. I have a friend in Prescott at Embry Riddle that said i would be able to take my tC into one of the hangers but now is saying i can't so this would be a great substitute.

Count me in! Maybe on a Sunday that way it isn't so busy there at the base. Then we could BBQ at the white tank mountains over on that side!

Here is the deal. As you all read above this is going to take alot of strings pulled. To pull those strings I'm gonna need numbers. I can't go to the PA and say hey I have 5 people who wany to take a tour of the base and take pics by the ACFT. I need to come at them with some pretty solid numbers so It will be on a Sat or Sunday no dates set, hoping for Sept, Oct. now I need your attention on this.: Do not reply unless you are seriously planing on showing. When you reply I need a head count. that is all no suggestions, no talk just serious replies.

This way I can get an acurate count on how many I need to press for flight line passes. Realistically I don't know about the cars by the F-16 , but you will defanatly be able to come on base on a little tour then to the flightline for picturesof and with the ACFT.

So when you respond please give me a acurate count and when I touch back in like 2 weeks on this I'm gonna count and then press on. :gun:

The count is up to 57 , that is great. I am going to try and get the ball rolling on this. I'm actually hoping that the "FALLENHEROCAR" might want to be unveiled at the base by an F-16 with the whole shebang, Honor Guard doing a 21 gun salute and taps played.
We shall see about that. Any more people you are welcome to reply only with a count. I'm trying to keep this one as simple as possible. When I get dates I will create a new topic to answer all questions on this event. I have never done an event before so anyone with insight and pointers please PM me. I will keep you all posted.

good luck with that one. you may ba able to get a Colors presentation though. it depends on how leanient Luke HG is. i dont know. but i was on Kirtland HG for a couple years, and i believe all that would be done for this would be Colors, because its not a funeral, its an event (but not like Memorial Day where there is Taps and Firing Party at the event).

not trying to burst the bubble or anything. it would be great if it did happen. just get in contact with the Base HG NCOIC.

as far as going to the evant- im totally down as long as its not on any of my guard weekends. me and my girl can get on base, but not the flightline

So in case anyone is wondering: What ever happened to that Idea. Well I've been trying and I am being told there is no way to get all our scions on base. The best we could do is a weekend tour bus rental. That is week. I thought I might be able to get an EAL and get all us in and do the damn tour myself. I'll continue to talk to PA and see if there are any loop holes. Maybe fellow actice duty scion owners can sponcer and we might be able to cram a few cars full of people. that would be five per car. so to get 20 people in I'd need 5 fellow scion guys on base. I know there are 3. Maybe they will read this and volunteer. Idono any one have any IDEAS..............
