View Full Version : Next generation tC zoohay 06-25-2004, 02:10 PM I'd love it if it looks like this one :) http://www.hondanews.com/CatID3046?mid=2004040128782&mime=JPG CuPoJava 06-25-2004, 02:22 PM Acura RL, eh? http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~liu45/media/tl.jpg So, basically, you want the next tC to look like the Mazda3? :P http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~liu45/media/maz32.jpg http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~liu45/media/maz3.jpg djct_watt 06-25-2004, 02:35 PM Huh? So why don't you buy an RL? Oh yeah, it costs more, and so do most cars people compare it to. . . Kinda off topic to what you said, but I get so much crap from people about (I own an xA) why I didn't buy a Matrix or Mini or RX330 or a Lancer EVO or a Subie. . . I think the PROBLEM, if you want to call it that, with Scion is that they look too nice(disregarding the tC's styling issues and hoodgap, and it was the car produced with the least production time too for Toyota). When I say too nice, I mean that they look like they should be competitive with $25k cars. Small things like the painting of all parts to the expensive looking door handles. I dunno about the tC, but my xA's doors shut more solidly than my brother's IS300. And it's funny because the IS300's doors close more solidly then our Uncle's MB C320. But my point is that from their appearance, they don't look like cheap cars, but people forget that they ARE cheap cars! You can't compare a Honda Civic level car to a Viper(yeah exaggeration). You can't compare an xB to a MB G500. Yes there are similarities, but you can't compare them. These cars absolutely blow away the cars in their respective price brackets. I get soo much attention from my xA that would not be at all possible in a Chevy Aveo or a Ford Focus. The differences are so small, but the impact is huge. For the tC, yes the hood gap is big, yes the styling is bland, but it looks like a 30k car. It may not be as racy as the Celica, but I gaurantee that it will not get old as quick either. It's a proven fact that bland cars age slower, notice how 95-97 Camry's still look new despite being 10 years old? Or my previous 1990 LS400 was commonly mistaken for a 95/96. But styling aside, if you want a looker, than pay up and get a Ferrari(except the Enzo ewww). For the price, I think the Scion tC can't be beat in the coupe/hatchback market. I'd much rather have the tC than a Cavalier/sunfire or Focus or Civic Coupe. zoohay 06-25-2004, 02:39 PM I was thinking this one...flint mica tC v.s. 2005 RL http://www.javacc.com:8888/cars/1.bmp http://www.javacc.com:8888/cars/tc.jpg What do you think?[/img] Milhamscion 06-25-2004, 02:42 PM Isnt it a little early for this topic?? lol zoohay 06-25-2004, 02:45 PM I guess the idea is how you wanna trun your tC into YOUR next gen. tC...just a thought :) couper2 06-27-2004, 05:27 AM Huh? Good point about conservative styled cars. I'll never get tired of my Celie's looks tho. :P djct_watt 06-28-2004, 05:57 AM yeah, definitely didn't mean to bag on celica's. . . I loved em before and love em still. . . they were designed in a pre-Scion Toyota Motor Corp. I hope we can see more products like the Celica get fused into Scion. erc21 06-29-2004, 01:52 AM Getting my Black Cherry tC tomorrow ( :D ), and am going to the love the sh*t out of it, but I saw the RLs pics on MSN, and that thing ABSOLUTELY blew me away. Acura is my fav car brand out right now, and was considering an RSX, but it was a bit out of my price range, and when I saw the tC, I fell in love with it. The RL is a way better, more powerful, and "meaner" looking car than the tC, but I'm going to feel THAT much better when I think of the price difference :D ! Charisma 06-29-2004, 01:53 AM I have an RSX now, I'd like to step away from JDM  |
