I have been seeing alot about DC headers. What other header would people recommend for an XB? How much HP do you think it increases by realisticly? 20?

DC Sports header and about 5hp.
I'd stick with them.

there is also the el prototypes header but that is basicly the same design. 8) Oh,wait...there is also the JDM header from TRD. Get ready to spend some bills on that one though!!

Once someone creates a real header, not one that bolts up to the existing exhaust, in other words a full header plus exhaust.

Stylis (precision muffler) makes a manifold-back exhaust. Downpipe, high-flow cat, full exhaust, Magnaflow muffler.

Gabe's just bolts up behind the headers doesn't it? If someone can create the header to the length they need rather than making it fit the stock length we could probably get more hp out of it.

This engine would make a bunch more power with a longer header but that would require relocating the cat and O2 sensors and it would need a mandrel bent 2.25" exhaust to the bumper.

To get it right it would take some dyno time and probalbly a couple of prototype headers which none of the mfgs are willing to devote the time and $$ to for a limited market and I don't blame them. From what I have seen Scion owners want more performance but don't want to pay for it. True, that's a generalization but is there anyone out there willing to pay $600 for a header and another $550 for an exhaust system? It would make significant power but it won't be CARB legal, the lab testing for that cirtification isn't cheap!

A DC Sports headr will get maybe 5 hp max. 20, from just a header, no, not out of our stock 1.5s. Remember, we share the same engine as the Echo. Its geared higher to make use of the limited horsepwer. I don't think the Scion xB or its overseas cousin, were ever developed to make horsepower, more of an economy grocery getter.

But, I have noticed a difference in the top end using the DC Sports header. Definitely a worthwhile investment along w/ the Injen short ram, and Tanabe axle-back.

You definitely don't hear stories about the xB stomping Honduhs.

Actually, I've played with 2 hondas and beat them both. Not Si's or anything but they had the normal intake and exhaust .... or muffler on them.

Also beat a 2.0 GTI a few times in a row so the XB really isn't too slow. runs out of steam fast though.

Oops, I guess I owe someone an apology.

I definitely have ALOT of fun in the twisties though.

I didn't see the manifold back at their website. I see the cat-back.

i can have something top notch made if anyone has a stock exhaust manifold and IM available. the exhaust manifold is more so for the flange. Company is in Californial and i'm in NJ or i'd be handing them my own
