Default Yea so I installed the MMW header ~ (edit lol pic lol)

After I had it ceramic coated by a local shop of course (quality work btw :p).

Install was easy but tedius. Waiting for the manifold to cool down for an hour or so was pretty boring. Everything lined up and bolted on. Started up, rev'd it good and boy did it roar. (like holy crap. I'm thrilled over my thinking ahead and having a huge resonator welded onto the mid-pipe before doing this)

Now, here's a question.

When I take the foot off the gas and the RPM's start dropping, I hear a rattle. A real annoying SOB of a rattle. I checked the pipes right where they come out of the manifold and the left 2 were the closest, so I shoved a doubled-up piece of heat wrap between them and puttered around a bit and it was still there.

I didn't check anything else since it was rather late in the day and I was pretty beat.

Anyone have this issue before? :o

I've got it too, learned to live with it after ripping off every heatshield and countless hours of deadblow hammering and trying different things.

Mine comes in most noticably in two places around 2500 rpm and about a half second around 4k.

It's a zephyr to me.

You guys might want to check your axle. I've had this problem as well but too me awhile to realize it was my axle. What was happening is that the axle was grinding on the s-pipe I think and it makes noise and it was annoying. CHECK it asap if its not the problem I'm sorry i can't help but You would want to check the whole header and s-pipe to see if its hitting against anything.

Odd to hear about a MMW bolting right up without problems but good for you. Any videos or pictures ?

I use to have the same rattle.. It was the pre-cat on the old style megan header that broke off and got stuck inside my midpipe. It made it all the way through the s-pipe and finally got stuck there.

I know the MMW header doesn't have a cat so that definately not it, but it could be something similar.

I'd pull the exhaust down and make sure there isn't anything stuck inside like a bolt, or something like that.

I'll check this afternoon about the axle thing, thanks fer that. Yea I was surprised about the header bolting up just right too, knowing my luck :p

It's not a bolt though, there would be a different sound if that's the case. Thanks for the advice ^^

I have the Alpha Werks header and I have the same problem. It's the freaking header in my situation. I had a Magnaflow resonator/high flow cat installed and still... So I got soooooo tired of hearing it I just put the stock one back on and I am happy. I believe those headers took away a lot of my low-end torque too

I just recently wanted to tinker around with them and so, I had my buddy weld a few spots on the header where I think that awful sound might be resonating from. I am also gonna use header wrap on it ( still not sure if it's a good idea though) this will make a difference I am sure. I will let you guys know soon.

Fixed the rattle. I didn't tighten down the o2 sensor in the downpipe, so it was loose and rattling against the undercarriage.

i've had a couple of rattles from my MMW. the first one was the header/spipe connection banging against the lower engine cradle. the second was the anti fouler hitting something. both are fixed now :D

Sweet!! Another tC on base. I'm excited

I had brief issues with a rattle after my AW install but figured out pretty quickly that it was the anti-fouler. Fixed and have had no further issues!

I thought it would be solver like the DC one but guess not. It makes it look more stock and is very clean
