all right, so here's the deal, my dad's '93 infiniti J30 is starting to come apart, it needs a few thousand or more in repairs and my mom and dad are thinking its time to start looking at a new car which i will probably end up driving as my first car. so here's the deal, my parents are lookin for a car basically for errands that has some good storage space, room in the back, a car with good reliability and most importantly, good gas mileage. so i need your opinions on what they(me) should get, keep in mind i will be a new driver and a good crash test rating and stuff will be considered and such. so what do u all think we should get( has to be under 20K also) i'm gonna try to push for an xB or an xA, but it may not be the best choice, so could u help me out a little so i can get a cool first car and be safe in it so my parents won't worry!! :P

xB sounds like a good choice to me. Especially for the storage space and such. Of course... if you come to a Scion forum and ask what car to get... most people are probably going to say a Scion. :) But xB would be the best of the three for your situation, IMO.

YEAH IF YOU NEED TRUNK SPACE OR CARGO SPACE PERIOD DONT GET A XA OR XB I LOVE MY BOX BUT THERES NOT MUCH SPACE (CARGO\TRUCK SPACE) UMM... I WOULD GO WITH A DODGE MAGNUM OR PT CRUISER

ok, caps are a no no....
anyways, avoid Magnum, they're incredibly cheap (quality wise), and for under 20k, they suck.
avoid PT cruisers... why? It's a Chrysler!
Look at the Honda Fit, or the Scion xB

Camry Hybrid is over 20k. Look into the Pontiac Vibe, it shares the Matrixs engne and drivetrain so you know it'll be reliable and it's much better looking than the Matrix. Also gets great MPGs and LOADS of trunk space. All the reviews I've read about it are positive. Plus, you get tons of GM discounts. That's my other choice after the xA.

Ok, wasn't expecting such a harsh responce to my simple reccomendation..which is what you thread asked for...reccomendations. But since we all like caps so much: Thanks for the newsflash but guess what...NO THEY ARE NOT!!!!! They are NOT the exact same car in every single aspect, only in a mechanical aspect. The vibe has a different exterior..such as headlights, side panels, grille, wheels, and tail lights. There are also some minor interior differences between the two. Vibe looks better and costs less and those two are aspects that they do not share. PRICE AND STYLING ARE NOT SHARED BETWWEN THE MATRIX AND THE VIBE!! Next time do a little research before you YELL about things you don't know much about.
