Default Jeff's 2006 Box (Updates!)

My name's Jeff, just picked up my 2006 BOP manual Xb Friday. I love it! Haven't done much yet, but obviously will. The only factory options I got were the armrest, the fog lights and the rear spoiler (which should be in today). I love the feel of it, and I look forward to really having a lot of fun with it. Nice place ya'll got here. Hope to meet you guys soon!

P.S. I'll get some pictures soon.

I guess it's not Indigo Ink? That's what the salesman told me. I'm guessing it's the Blue Onyx Pearl. I'll have to go check. Thanks!

So last night I did a few of the easy cheap mods because I was bored. First, I took out the amber peices in the headlights. I read the instructions during the day here at work and remembered everything. It went off without a hitch. Took all of 35-40 minutes. I had the bumper off so I threw some Sylvania SilverStars since I had super easy access. I'll be replacing the headlights Friday. I also removed the badging from the back of the car. It's so new that the just came right off and left no gunk. I was pretty happy about that. Other than that stuff, I just washed it, put my first coat of wax on it (I always wax my new cars as soon as I get them), and cleaned the interior. Things were so easy to do, I can tell already that I am going to love this car! Sorry if the pictures aren't that great, I was using my PPC/Phone.

I'll be putting in my Kenwood deck from my truck and sirius tuner friday also, picking up some floor matts (doh! I forgot to get them with the car!) and doing a once over before my first road trip. Here's an update, as I said, I waxed it last night, and I used Mother Synthetic wax. I noticed that I was leaving some hazing (more like I could just see that there was wax left on it) and just wondered if it was because the wax was a synthetic. It just rained here and I went out and looked at it and when the water is trailing off of it, it's leaving marks (which I tried rubbing out with my finger, and they came off). Just thinking I need to buff it out or go back and re wipe it down. I won't be able to do this until at the earliest this evening. Theoretically, if there is still a thin layer of the wax left, will it hurt the car to sit in the sun today? It's supposed to rain on and off, so it won't be constant, but I just don't want any nasty marks on the paint. Any suggestions?

ok what i did was when i first got mine (had mine for a month now) was i washed the car with regular dishsoap to breakdown the factory wax they use on the cars at the lot. then i used the wax i wanted on the car and it came out just like i wanted it to. hope this helps. the dishsoap breaks through the wax do to the fact of dishsoap being a degreaser.

So theoretically, it should be fine until later on?

Hey everyone! Just a quick update, I put in my stereo and Sirius tuner tonight. Also got the SilverStars put in. Picked up some floormats, and ready to head to Wisconsin at 7 tomorrow morning for Dave Matthews Band and Umphrey's McGee. Here are a few pictures, I decided to get really cool with the sirius tuner as I didn't want it to be in the way. I took out the storage compartment and spare tire and discovered the plastic placeholder beneath. I cut out a square section of it and put my Sirius tuner there. I am going to clean it up some later, but for the sake of time, I had to rush a bit. Love the lights, everything is so much brighter! Anhow, here are the pictures:
The Lights

Deck Unit Installed (almost all the way )

Sirius Installation

That's it for now. Talk to ya'll Wednesday!!! Happy fourth!
