as im sure everyone knows, there are many strut bars to choose from. from what i hear, they all do the same thing, they just connect the strut towers. what i was wondering was if the material made a difference, like which material is stronger and wont flex as much. t6061 aluminum, carbon fiber, carbon steel, or steel. which one is preferable.

Any material that is strong enough to prevent flex is suitable. I took a look at a TRD bar and was very disapointed, it was made of 3 sided aluminum and not very stiff at all.
For best results without excess weight I would build one from 4130 chromemoly steel tube. I don't think there are any commercially available bars in that material. Carbonfiber would be stiff and light but the cost would be huge for the amount of
benefit.
Most commercial bars are aluminum tube and quite adaquate and can be had in polished or anodized in various colors for that "bling" thing.
