no, drivers side still works normaly. it jus prevents the passenger from rolling down windows. it disables the passenger controls only.

yea, im shure. its to prevent a child from opening the passenger side window and possibly falling out while ur driving. u can open it to the desired opening size when it is set, jus not the passenger. if urs doesn't work then i would get it checked. not normal.

to put it bluntly, you're wrong. what gomdangie described is normal in the tC, and it's the same in all the other toyota's i've been in, including my parent's 00 sienna, and 03 tundra.

You cannot open the windows from either side when the lock is activated. It almost got me when I first got the car. I went to roll my window down and could not. Couldnt roll either of them down, then I noticed I had inadvertently pressed the window lock button. I think the feature is useless on this car other than to keep the girlfriend from closing the window It is illegal to let small children ride in the front seat, and there are no rear windows to roll down.

Yes if you lock the passenger side window, the driver side will also not be able to roll down or up the passenger side window as well.

If your salesman did not specifically point that out to you, drive back to the dealership, kick him in the nads and say, "Your VDQ have massive suck!"

It's one of the first things I point out every single time I deliver a car.

Wierd.

I use it to prevent the girlfriend from rolling the window DOWN...too bad I can't lock the sunroof too.

Maybe I just have a sick sense of humor

^^ heh heh.. that depends on what you did before she tried to roll them down now that is a sick joke :D

I just love driving with them down.. and she will roll it up so her hair isnt blowing all over.. so I like to be mean once in a while and lock them down for her

Of course, when your car is done I think they will roll down (aka blow out) automatically anyway !

If I lock the windows I can't open them either from the driver's side. I though that was weird.

That would be useful if it locked the sunroof, too. As fun as it is locking the window to stop a drunk guy from cat calling women, it's waaaay more fun for them to open the sunroof and hang out of there doing the same thing!

I never once used this button until i read this thread but when my passenger window is locked MY driver side DOES work, not sure why mine works and yours doesn't, oh well just thought i'd throw it out there.
