I was wondering if they ever put that limited slip diff in there tc that was running 12's I've been wondering if they could get it into mid 11's with the lsd and of course with a video

 

I believe that car blew up at the Scion Shootout...

Im suprised ZPI hasnt shown any new times with the LSD and their wicked setups.. It seems like they are busy.

Do you know exactly what happened? This is the 2nd tC that i heard blew up after trying to put down some BIG HP.

Kind of gets me thinking if i should not have Sound Performance bring my car into the 500hp mark.

Just about all there tc's have had some motor problems

 

It did blow up but they were running it at some insane horsepower levels so everybody was simply waiting for it to happen. Now it is a good excuse to step up to the new level. After all they already kicked every other companys' a$$es in having fastest tc with slap on turbo kit.

You are talking about two totally different cars. The grey car was the one that went 12.1 and the silver car is the one that blew up at the scion shoot out. It was on its second motor at the time so you are looking at three total engines over two cars there. Along with dyltone's car you have three, Joe Ruso's Black tC makes 4, my personal car (which didnt really blow up as I drove it until I took it apart, but it DID have internal damage) makes 5, the scion speed car makes 6, and I know there were a couple more. These are just the ones that come to mind at 7 am.

The ZPI car blew with a good ammount over 450whp (they estimate), only thing it had for internals were low compression aftermarket pistons, everything else on the inside was stock.

 

wow, if you want 450whp don't you think you have to do a little more than just pistons?

All I know is that the car blew 3/4 of the way down the track and still ran a low 12..

 

the reason that kenny's engine blew is that it was band new w/ pistons. they got it in the car right before the shootout and didnt have time to properly break it in i belive. I geuss he just took a chance. but a car that can run low 12's with a blow up engine is really sayin something. lol.

 

If the rings were not seated properly it would have blown up the first pass down the track. I doubt that had anything to do with it really.

To the original poster,

Although it hasnt seen the road again yet, (as far as Im aware) I do believe that the transmission that was supposed to go into the grey tC had a welded diff in it. Plans could have changed with the release of the LSD, but I know that was the plan at the time.

 

Quaife has an LSD for the tC and we are an authorized dealer for them.
