Default xB - T-Shirt Interest - Toaster Design

Hi all, I asked a felow arizona forum member from the Arizona Mazda Club to make me a shirt off the design he created. I have no role in the profits made, a company will be taking care of the design and payment stuff.

Here is the design:

It will be white print on black shirts. Sizes and t-shirt brand is still being decided upon. The pricing will be $12 + $5 shipping, so $17 shipped. (USA Only)

I will have more details shortly. He would like to have 30+ people interested before he prints the shirts. I will keep everyone posted.

I'd be interested in a shirt if the design were a little better. That just seems a little cheap to me. Would that be the final product? (Obviously minus the "sample")

as far as i know, that will be the final design. the goal was to make it simple and plain. any suggestions are welcome though.

+1

Although the design is really simple it's almost TOO simple. All I see is a toaster on a t-shirt. But, I'm definitely interested in getting one if you have more options/selections on design.

My opinion.... dont like the design. I think it would look better w/ the actual resemblance of the xB w/ 2 slots on top for toast w/ a cord comming out the back of the box.
The current design doesnt look like it has anything to do w/ scion or xB.

Photoshop is for raster images. Unless you're doing halftones and stuff you would want to use software like Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw. They are vector based, and his screen printer will really appreciat working with those types of files instead of rasters. (jpg, gif, tif, bmp = raster any image made up of pixels. Vectors are mad up of paths and points and do not get distorted when scaled up)

If you do use PS make it actual size of the print @ 300dpi. If you do it like that the image quality will be good enough to use. Anything lower res than that will be running a risk of pixelating (blocky jagged edges instead of a smooth straight line)

I'm a designer and I can't help but to get involved in this thread. I agree with everything D M A N has said (you must be a designer too! ). Also, one thing that makes the image look really odd is that it's an "oblique" drawing. "Perspective," or even "isometric," is much more pro. Oblique drawings are just my pet peave with a few exceptions.

I would love to do a handful of options (I have a few ideas) but I'm too busy this week to do it the way I'd like. I could do a decent line drawing of the image jethro posted but probably not until the weekend. I guess it all depends on what your time frame is, how set you are on your design and what we can get 30 people to like.

Yeah, I'm not a newbie :D Everything I do is AT LEAST 300 dpi. I do a lot of t-shirts for bands around here, so I'm not new to it. I didn't get a chance to look at anything last night, but I'll try to get something today...
