:arrow: We have successfuly made a carbon fiber trunk lid for the Scion xB! the 1st one was released today and installed on 1 of the Scion Evolution black xB.

Fitment is great, all stock hardwares (screws, shocks etc.)are reuseable, and the weave is awesome.

the trunk will be offered in: original carbon, carbon kevlar (yellow), red carbon, blue carbon and silver carbon.

the stock rear window and door handle are reused and the window deffoger/defroster and lic. plate lights etc. still works!

although we have eliminated the rear wipers

and a weight savings of a total of 10lbs is also a plus!

nice. cant wait to see the kit. btw...who made this.

this trunk is made by my company called Socal Tuner, we will be making a whole lota body parts (cf,fg,abs,poly) for the xB, xA, and tC...and other automobiles.

I disagree - CF looks great on Camo, IMO. If it wouldn't cause a divorce, I'd rock the hatch with a CF Spoiler and hood in a heartbeat...

There's more to this than 10 lb savings, too. It would cost close to this just to shave the rear wiper which is soooooo useless anyway.

FYI as well..

The trunk latch cover on Luis' car is messed up and he is replacing it...that's why it looks crooked on the picture..

yeah i can get orange weave carbon fiber, but its a different orange from the hot lava

10lbs lighter with the stock rear windsheild on

estimate about another 10lbs if optional lexan window was installed ( we have yet to test this set up)

That looks sweet. I really need money. I'm thinking silver carbon or just have the black painted TCM and I'll have one clean rear end..........................but I guess I just have too many projects going on right now!

Okay i can see if you dont appreciate Nude carbon fibre. But, to paint it would not require anything beyond normal surface prep work and as someone stated, if it's $550.oo i'll be damed if i painted it. i wanna see carbon. The only concern i have is for those of us that may have already a carbon fibre hood is if the 2 weave patterns would be close enough to match and what catagory the weave is? if it looks like a VIS hood then i'm disapointed already. i am intrested tho. in a few other details. How much was the weight differance? only 10 lbs, and thats minus the wiper motor and with lexan glass? if its the same weight one would only buy it do to novelty or styling. not much enticement for a race application. Would be better off just putting the lexan rear window in the original tailgate. And will the Lexan window be clear or close match to the factory style tint. which i've determined to be a bronze/charcoal mix.

the CF trunk with the LEXAN is estimated at 20lbs lighter, since most of the weight of the trunk is from the rear glass itself,
and to shave 10 lbs for just changing the hatch with the stock rear glass on is really not that bad

my VIS hood on my spyder only shaved 7lbs from stock!!!

and NO my trunk looks way better than the VIS weave, i think the people that have seen the trunk in person could vouch for that

and the lexan window would have to be clear...tint on your own expense, you dont need tint to race, if thats what your buying it for, just the weight reduction.

*keep in mind that when the OEM rear glass is put on my trunk, the defrosters work*

and my trunk uses all the OEM hardware, no replacement or custom drilling required!
