Default So I got my TC dynoed today....

I Finally Dynoed my TC today... I was actually kinda shocked, because I was kinda wishing to see more power being put down but I'm happy with it ....for now.

So my TC is pushing 155 WHP @ 5, 500 RPM's and 155 lb.-ft. @ 3, 500 RPM's

*mods*
*Major performance mods*
DC Race Header
Magnaflow cat-back Exhaust
K&N Typhoon CAI

*Minor performance mods*
(a.k.a. things that I've done that I really don't think did a whole lot)
TRD High Performance Radiator cap
Bosch Platinum 4 Spark plugs

oh, and I was running 93 Octane gas
with a bottle of Octane booster(it might have helped some)

I'll put the charts up and the video when I can scan the charts and figure out the video

auto or manual? and two things...

a) i dont think that TRD cap did anything so i wouldnt call it a performance mod
b)higher octane does nothing but empty your wallet quicker unless ur F/I or have major motor work. 87 will do your car just fine

The radiator cap is a performance mod. It simply isn't a performance boosting mod. It's the oil cap that doesn't do anything.

Still wanting to know what type of dyno.

what type of dyno, and what his "base" dyno was, since he doesn't seem to have a dyno from before the mods, we don't know what kind of power this setup has really given him. each car, each dyno, is different, so unless we had numbers of his car on this dyno, we couldn't really compare it to anything.. sad really.

It's a 5-spd, I'm about to run out to my car and get the dyno sheets, and I said the radiator cap was a MINOR performance mod, only really helps with cooling.

I could of sworn that you are ONLY suppose to use Iridium Plugs for the tC..it even says it in the manuel....But who knows..haha

hopefully it won't be a problem..... I think I need to check things out before I change stuff like spark plugs...

Does it sound raspy at all with the header?

I have ths same exhaust as you do. Was there a big change in sound after?

Yea it's very raspy, but mainly at mid to high RPM's then the rasp mellows out when I'm cruising, and I keep throwing a Catalyst Ineffieciancy(can't spell) code with the DC header, I got a code reader so I can scan it and clear it but it's annoying. I ordered a free flowing "S"pipe and a high flow cat hopefully that will clear it up, if not I'll try a resonator..and if that doesn't help I'll just get an HKS exhaust system or replace the Magnaflow muffler with a better flowing magnaflow muffler. I can handle the rasp a litte but the code is ticking me of the most.

on average i think the 5spd tc's baseline dyno is around 140whp. but like someone already said, each car is different. u can get somewhat of an idea of how much power u really gained though. so mayb 13-15whp?

im an auto, and i had i/h/e and i dyno'd 141whp. on average auto's get baseline is about 127whp. so from that im estimating mayb a 13-14 whp increase. i'm s/c'd now and will dyno this friday and will finally get auto s/c numbers for everyone waiting. and i will be able to compare the s/c'd numbers with my previous dyno.

*i know each car is different but im just comparring against the average.*

Thank you. Not many people will show their dyno with SAE correction but you are one of them. Eveyone wants to show theirs with the STANDARD correction method b/c it yeilds higher numbers.

The 93 octane is probably holding you back a little bit. The tC does not need that stable of gasoline.

If you tried it with 87 or 89 you'd probably hit closer to 156-158. Our lower-comp engines need less gasoline stability.

It raises the boiling point of the radiator fluid which helps keep the fluid cooler....very small gains in performance

I'll remember that when I get it dynoed again.I'm still waiting on my S-pipe and high flow cat

Like the others have said, you look like you are posting average numbers. Most people with I/H/E show similar gains.

Kinda puts that whole "yeah im gonna get 12whp from my exhaust and another 15whp from my header cus that is what the manufacturer claims" thing into perspective doesn't it?

Good job man, keep modding

I was going to say the same exact thing.. My car hates 93

Not bad numbers considering the magnaflow exhaust is only 2.25"

2.5" will take away some power in the low RPMs, but will free up a few more peak HP.
