I tried to change engine oil....

I just want to know what kind of filter you are using..

I searched the 2 filters

there are regular toyota filter (about $4.00 each) and trd filter (about $12.00)

I think the filter is not important as oil....

so...what filter do you use??

any recommend ones?

 

i use the trd filter with royal purple.

 

i am currently using Wix, with Redline 5w30

 

I only use Mobil One Synthetic 5W30 with a Fram Tough Guard oil filter. I realized Mobil had their own synthetic oil filter and just switched to it.

I will use mobil1 full syn oil....the price is $21.00 for 5qt in walmart.

It is the best price I searched.

that is big jug like gallon milk.

Is trd filter worth to spend three times more than just regular toyota one??

I know the quality is matched the price...

Is there anybody know what is difference between those filters???

I've used mobil 1 since the break in oil came out. Redline or royal purple "might" be better but mobil 1 is manufacturer recommended(vettes, mercedes,etc) and reasonably priced/easy to find. Also if all the "other" additives were really as good as people like to believe I think manufacturers would be recommending them.

My first oil change I used a standard fram. Unfortunately it was smaller than the stock filter and i've heard the standard frams have low quality media. I have since gotten away from fram and will probably never go back. I've been using TRDs but can't honestly say I know that they are worth $12 a piece. I'd recommend WIX if you want a quality low cost filter. Ive never used them but have heard good things regarding them. The stock filter should be quality as well. I think I visually compared the two about a year ago (I barely remember yesterday) seemed like the TRD was a little heavier built.

 

I used Mobil 1 5w-30 with a Fram Tough Guard before but have switched to a K&N for the last 2 oil changes...I wouldn't recommend the Frm Tough Guard. Never used the TRD one but thought about it. Happy with K&N so staying with it for now.

you can get the trd filter from the dealer. it cost me around 12 dollars a piece. but the toyota dealer will just use the regular one unless you buy trd separate.

 

I also use Mobil1 oil filters. They are a bit more expensive but they do a very good job.

 

Is the mobil1 filter shorter than OEM one? I have it right now, but it will be replaced by Purolator PureONE at next oil change. It uses synthetic filter media and has quality bypass valve and is cheaper than Mobil1. Regular purolators are nothing special, though.

 

I use the K&N Oil Filter and i use Mobil 1 5w30 Synthetic oil. Its Worth it for me

wow...I think it is not a good idea..
actually filter is just for 4000miles..I don't think there is huge difference...
Does anybody use trd filter from japan..???
