right now i have stechs with stock shocks, and wanted to know if anyone had a koni yellow stech setup as i was thinking of getting the koni yellows. any problems with this combo? cuz i saw that somebody mentioned that koni yellows aren't good with more than a 1.5inch drop.

you'll be fine with the stechs with the koni yellows but screw the stechs get hotchkis springs man!

i got em ..and love them...i think they're better then stechs but thats just me.

 

well i'm happy with my stechs now what about the install? is it a pain in the butt? approximately how much for the install if i take it to a shop?

 

does anyone out there actually HAVE this setup? and if so..how is the performance and feel?

 

koni install isn't too bad, but if you are a novice I wouldn't try it alone. If you were nearby, I would do it for you...but Houston is a bit far to drive.

I have installed a few sets of these on other cars. I ran them on my cavalier...very good struts.

 

how much would u charge to do them? just curious...

 

I just like doing suspension installs, so I usually dont charge much, if at all. I would say koni strut install, plus springs and installation on the car...I would do it for $100-$150 tops if I charged money for it. Most of the time I just do things because I like to help out. Just buy me a case of beer. :D

i actually have the groud controls coilovers and the koni yellow set ups. the ride is pretty smooth but installing this combo took pretty long. i'll post some pictures up hopefully by today after i wash my car. i just finish installing it last night.

 

Didn't realize GC made coils for the tC.

I had them on my cavalier for a while. They were a great quality set for a sleeve type.

what about the koni yellow settings? i'm just a daily driver..so if i put them on full soft all the way around, will it feel like stock?

i have the koni yellows..people say to leave them on softest for like 500 miles to "break" them in but it's totally up to u ..i had mine on soft for quite a while and to me it felt pretty much stock...i have it 2 turns which is suppose to 50% over stock..i like the ride..a little rough here and there (depending on road condition) as a daily driver i was skeptical between one full turn which is 20% and 2 turns which is 50% ...as for you ur in the same boat i am...i'd probably go one or two turns..u don't need to go 3 because its 100% which is wayyy to stiff for a daily driver.

the only thing is choose carefully...adjustment on the back is a pain. =/

 

thanks stcx86, i might go with softest cuz of all the stupid rattling problems..i'm thinkin the stiffer i go..the more the car will rattle ahah..need to fix those..they are annoying

Hey lyrictenor1...i was talking about the rear struts. there are suppose to be 3 clicks: 1st click is 20%, 2nd click is 50%, 3rd click is 100%.
